Default My fob is not working at all its not being detected

Hey can anyone help me. I used the car on wednesday and it started and the fob worked fine. I then tried to start it on xmas day and the fob just did not work at all. I mean the doors did not unlock, the horn button did not do anything and when i tried to start it, it just said "fob not detected". I have changed the battery cleaned the fob from inside but still no good. Can anyone tell me what has happened? The fob just is not being detected at all.
Thanks in advance

No it was in the same place as wednesday. I have read threads where people have said that the fob is not starting the car but it opens the doors and trunk but my fob is not doing anything its just not working at all. Also i only have one fob.

Are you sure you put the positive side of the new fob battery DOWN when putting it in the fob?

If so, it may be either the battery in the car that is going out, or the computer system in the car that detects the fob (don't remember the name of that computer system).

Did you get a new cell phone/charger for Christmas?

Did you try placing the Fob in the slot in the glove box?

What condition is the car's battery in, is it fully charged or has it gone dead since Wednesday?

Sorry no answers, just some questions so far.

find a new vette that will start with your fob now

jk

yeah it happened to me too...i had to change my car battery

because my car battery wasn't giving enough power to detect the fob

try jumping your car and leave the wire connected to the other car and see if it detects and starts

good luck

Sorry for the long post...

We purchased a new 2010 Cadillac SRX on Friday, December 18th. It worked great until Wednesday, December 23rd, when my wife could not get it to recognize either fob when she was parked at a department store parking lot here in town. We took the SRX to the Caddy dealership here that day. We were told by the dealership that 2 other vehicles, an SRX and a Lincoln SUV, both with keyless start feature, had desribed the same problem and BOTH of those vehicles were parked at the same department store parking lot as our SRX. I opened and closed the door of our SRX and after 15 minutes it finally recognized the fob and we got it started.

A co-worker had the same problem, at the same parking lot with a Nissan. The Nissan's door lock / unlock remote entry would not work at all, but the car did start...it has normal key start. My '08 C6 coupe started fine in the same parking lot.

Sorry for the long post, but electromagnetic interference seemed to be the only explanation in our case. Hope this helps.

I bet your car battery is dead.

Some places will test it for free (Autozone, Checker, etc.), just remove it and take it there.

Have the dealer check the RCDLR module (Remote Control Door Lock Receiver)
