While it doesn't snow much in Texas....mine will see snow if it does. My mom drives her 2008 'vert year round in Indiana so it has seen a lot of snow.

I've driven my C2s, C3, C5, & C6 in Chicago snow and salt over decades... when the snow isn't too deep.

There has never been any damage or decay. I own Corvettes to enjoy, wash, and take out to drive again.

The challenge is to adapt the driving style -- clutch and throttle usage -- appropriately for the conditions. But that is just another aspect of owning these great cars.

Agreed - Corvettes LOVE snow and ice; just need to have winter tires.

I don't make a habit of driving the vette in the rain or the snow because its definitely requiring a though cleaning afterwards...but I have taken the vette out in the snow etc and its fine as long as the snow is not too deep and you drive appropriately.

Put snow tires on the vette and except for its lower ground clearance....its as good as any other rwd vehicle. I like the idea of a package or two of roof shingles in the trunk....and if you do get stuck..pull two shingles out and put under the rear tires to get traction.

Maybe your viper needs a vette as a daily driver?

It is apples to oranges. The Vette was definitely capable of being a daily driver even though I never did. It was fast and long trips were comfortable. The Viper (mine is an 03) on the other hand is a non-relaxed car. It is extremely commanding and on any roads that aren't extremely smooth, it will want to dart. It is not a long trip car as it is extremely rough also. Keep in mind that I'm 22 and I think it is rough as hell. I can't imagine someone in their mid 60's getting brutalized. That being said, I love my Viper more than any other car. I dont like safety features nor do i like bells and whistles. It is a fast, fun head turner and is used for fun so it is the perfect adrenaline rush.

Back to topic, I can't believe I am seeing pics of c6s with snow on them, let alone that red one covered with salt! Clean that beast up.

I have driven mine in the snow. Mine is my daily driver. I have a set of winter tires for it, but if the snow is too deep or the roads have a lot of ice, the wife and I carpool in her 4X4 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Default Tahoe or Bust

I live in SoCal and haven't taken it up skiing (yet).

About 3 years ago I took my kids up to Tahoe in a pretty new Honda Oddyssey. We passed through Bishop at about 8:30 pm with a storm on the way. Couldn't find any chains that fit that wheel size, they're not made. Decided to keep going up the mountains anyway. We passed the Mammoth Mt. turnoff and were soon on our own. In the next 100 miles there were only 3 or 4 cars and maybe the same number of snowplows heading south. The only car pointed north was a red Corvette. It was stopped on the side with a few inches of snow on top and a Highway patrol officer checking on him.

We made it no problem, just took it slow and easy with a little bit of help from the electronic nanny's. (There was no ice.)
