Nitto Tire question (treadware)

Nitto Tire question (treadware)
I ve read a lot of comments on Nitto tires and others too regarding how they are much better than the OEM tires such for traction and comfort.
For example, the NT05 tires have been recommended a lot but, what about the others Nitto offers. I mean the NT05 only have a treadware of 200. Some go up to over 400. I dont want to track my car and was wondering if these would still provide good traction not being as soft as the OEM tires. Has anyone tried these higher Tread ware tires from NItto, Bridgestone, etc.
Thanks

i have the nitto invos. i forget what the tread rating is, somewhere around 280, i think (but i could be wrong). hard to compare these tires to the new RFs since it was so long ago since they were new, but i am very happy with ride improvement and noise reduction. i just had the vette out yesterday in 30 degree weather, and my sotp impression is that they handle the colder weather a little better than the GY RF. i have about 1,500 miles, so cant really comment on tread life.
good luck with your choice.

I've had a single set of Nitto Invos on my vette for over 6 months now, ever since it got supercharged. There's still tread left for another month or two. Your results will vary.

Its really pretty simple....the higher the wear rating, the harder the tire. Its all a trade off ---- how much total miles/wear are you willing to sacrifice for better cornering and better traction while accelerating??
A softer tire with a lower wear rating is going to give you more of both --- but there is no free lunch when it comes to replacing them sooner....What's in YOUR wallet??

I put the NT05 on my Z06. The mileage before replacement almost doubled (11k 4 track days vs. 19K 3 track days). At 19K, they don't hold under full acceleration like they did and the wet traction is getting worse. Dry traction is still very good. I will get another set soon. The single best reason to buy them is noise reduction. These tires are very quiet. You can actually hear the car.

The Invo on my Z are thread wear 220. 275front & 345/rear. 15K miles and fantastic wear. even wear as well.
Thread wear is different depending on the size of the tire on the Invos.
