Custom Widebody Project has begun!
So today my complete body kit arrived at my office and was a nice distraction from the huge pile of work I should be doing. The kit appears to be very high quality after a quick inspection and no parts were damaged during shipping. I'll have a better update once I've had some time to look the kit over.
Info on the kit here:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-p...s-bumpers.html
I already have a set of chrome Z06 wheels with 345's out back to fill the fenders, and a few more go fast goodies in the works.
I snapped a few quite photos and will start test fitting the parts over the next couple of weeks. Enjoy

Thats a lot of money after all is said and done, if you do the brakes and all , wouldn't a GS be cheaper? just curious.

No that is a LOT LESS money than all the other widebody kits available. Really though, swapping to the GS isn't going to be cheaper for what you'd lose in sale of current vette vs. pay for a GS right now. Maybe a year from now or so with GS prices dropping to a reasonable used price. But the front fenders and sideskirts are better looking in my opinion than the GS anyway.

The entire body cost me just over 2k to my door since I took advantage of the very early discounts that were available ( I think I was the first to order). They are still offering 20% off, but as more people order they are discounting less. My plan is to bolt everything on the car as a test fit and make any changes that might be needed then remove and have them painted. I'll be doing most of the work myself prior to paint , and this is the first time I've done anything like this.

Now having said that, the thing I do not like about the front fenders is that they kept the wide lip around the wheelwell opening, just like the stock fenders. This is fine if you do not do a rear widebody or do one using their fenders, but if you have already done a rear widebody using the GM rear fenders (like I have), then you will still have the mis-match of the fender arc lip.

You gotta post this in the Canadian Section as well
I'll be watching - most interested in the rear quarters and knowing if you can reuse all the inner fenders, linings and hardware.....

The front fenders are wider, just like a ZR1, but are made to bolt up to the stock C6 nose. If you want the Z06/ZR1 front look, then you buy their front nose also (but it is the same width as stock - just has the scoop opening in it).
You really need to click on the link in the first post to educate yourself on these body panels! (if you have not already done so)

Don't know that it will look "stupid", but it will not look right. These ZR1 front fenders are 1.5" wider than stock, just like a true GM ZR1 fender (same with the rear). You will need Z06 or ZR1 wheel/tire sizes for everything to look right.

The front flares are wider, close to Z06 and ZR1 specs, the two OUTLETS aren't as aggressive as the stock ZR1. The difference is it comes back in to meet the stock front bumper width. So the front of the tire will be more exposed at the bottom than the top.

In that thread, on page 2- post 38, the manufacturer states:
The fenders are 1.5 inches wider than a base C6, the bumper is made from an OEM base C6 bumper with the scoop added. These parts (besides the hood) were primarily made for the base C6 guys.
I don't know why everyone is having such a hard time understanding that these are true "widebody" fenders, both front and rear. They will require larger wheels/tires to look right.
The one special thing that the manufacture has done, and it is a good thing, is make the front fenders bolt up correctly to the stock C6 nose so you do not have to replace the nose to have a full front and rear widebody. This makes doing a widebody much lower in cost. If you want the front nose with the Z06/Zr1 scoop, then you must buy his to match up to his fenders.
