Who has installed oem z51 rotors/brackets?
I really like the look of these and wonder if this would be a DIY project or should I buy the kits and have it done? Any advise would be appreciated.

fairly easy to do except getting the 125 foot lb. torque
on the caliper bracket bolts, not much room in their to get
good leverage to torque.takes about an hour to do all 4.

Very easy. You don't even need to disconnect the calipers, so no worries about bleeding the brakes afterwards. A torque wrench is really the only special tool needed, and you should have one of those anyway.
Hint: Pick up a $4 caliper spreader at any auto parts store first (looks like a flat metal plate with a threaded **** sticking out of the middle) -- its not *strictly* needed, but its a cheap tool that makes the job of pushing the pistons back into the calipers quick and easier.

Check with Gene at GM PartsHouse. Looks like he has it for $511 + shipping. Might want to consider the ceramic pads also.

Rotor replacement
Don't forget to buy lock washers that go on the wheel studs. Mine only had two per wheel, so I ordered 20 of them and put them on all of the studs. Cost about 20.00 from the local Chevy dealer.

If you are not -- those "lock washers" (actually called Tinnerman nuts) are used only to keep the rotors on the studs just long enough to assemble the car at the factory. They add no strength and serve absolutely no purpose once the car leaves the factory, and can be discarded at any time. Forever.
We're all learning here, dude.

Z51 rotor price
Does the $511 price VinneT quoted include the matching hubs or are the hubs black?
I am going to change my stock rotors on my 2005 out but would like the matching rotors hubs or at least the "stainless steel" rotor caps.
Thanks.

Forgive me for not understanding. If you are referring to a rotor cover type thing they don't come with any. The Z51 rotors are like a carbon color. You can choose to prep them any way you'd like as far as painting the hats on them, etc. If you need more information or additional assistance please contact me directly.
Thanks, Gene.
