Recommended Maintenance
Hi,
I have a 2005 Manual C6 with 17,000 miles. What maintenance (fluids plugs etc) would you guys recommend be done at this point?
Based on your responses below, here’s the list of recommended services (please correct me if the services below don’t apply to a manual tranny):
1) Differential fluid.
2) Transmission fluid.
3) Clutch fluid (which is actually brake fluid?).
4) Brake fluid flush.
5) Coolant / anti-freeze.
Which of these services could I do myself? Which should be done by the Stealership or a professional?

Outside of normal oil changes, one thing that MUST be done is a change of the differential fluid. I just changed mine at 33k miles along with the transmission fluid. There is a TSB on the differential fluid. You'll feel the difference immediately.
Also, change your clutch fluid. You can do a search on this Forum for instructions. Even a non-mechanic can do it.
I'm sure others will chime in with additional thoughts.

I'd be thinking about a brake fluid flush at this point. Antifreeze is good for 5 years - so you're getting close on this. Easy for me to answer this - I also have an 05, few less miles than you, have done the diff and tranny already. I've done the clutch fluid thing (which is actually brake fluid so be careful) a few times - it's more of a "dilution" than a change since you don't totally remove all the old fluid.

As far as I'm concerned; oil only. However, if you are tracking your car and drive it extremely hard, you may want to consider changing the diff fluid.

I have an 05 too with 11,100 miles on it. When I take it out in the spring Is it a good idea to get the coolant flushed and filled and the trans fluid changed? The car was built in December 04. Probably the diff fluid too while I am at it.

Since you are doing everything else I would add the power steering to the list. I change ALL fluids every 20,000 miles or six months. I drive my car VERY hard. It may not be necessary, but its only time and money.

Since I drive about 3,000 miles a month I figure 6 months or 20,000, but I do change the engine oil every 3,000 to 6,000 miles. I know 20,000 miles sounds to soon, but like I said it is only time and money.
