205 degrees for your water temp, at highway speed, is normal. They run hotter than the C5's. Even in colder weather I don't see temps lower than 199 degrees while on the highway.

Thanks.
I normally run bewteen 195 and 205 in light cruising (freeway speeds with light throttle). It sometimes runs as high as 215-220 when in very heavy trraffic on warmer days when running at low speeds, but drops to around 200-205 once I am rolling again. Your temps sound absolutely normal. BTW, I have an '08 base 1LT with the A6.

205 is spot on for the coolant temperature at highway speeds. Whether it is 75 or 95 degrees ambient, that's the temperature I always see when driving from TX to LA or vice versa.

I don't think this is normal. Anyone else have this problem? Also, what temp should the car be shut down at?

Mine is no highway driving. All city and stoplights. How about yours?

The under hood light was omitted in '07.
I changed my thermostat to a 160 and reprogrammed the fans I never get over about 200 even in heavy traffic with outside air temp about 100.

205 is good actually. You will see it go even higher when in traffic.

Driving thru N Arizona on my way to Page from North rim of Grand Canyon this summer it was 100 F outside at 10 PM at Marble Canyon, water temp was 199, which is 1 degree warmer than it normally is. Once it warms up to 198, only a traffic jam makes it go higher.
