Default Tracks in Florida

Hi All,

Just trying to understand the track experience. I live in Tampa. I checked out the Sebring site and all I saw was an occasional weekend where you could pay $500+ to use their cars. So I'm trying to understand these:

What tracks can go to in Central/South Florida (not dragstrips, though curious about those too)?

What does it cost to drive my car on a track?

Can I have a passenger in the car?

Any links are appreciated too, thanks.

Homestead(Nov 29th), Sebring (Nov 6th) & Daytona(Dec 6th) let you on the track in your own car if you are part of a sponsored event like a HPDE.

As for dragstrips .... Wednesday night at Bithlo raceway. Bithlo Florida... between Orlando and the spacecoast.

http://www.speedworlddragway.com/schedule.html Look at Wednesday night "Street drags"

You might want to post this in the Southeast section as well. There are some very active members there from the Tampa Bay area and will probably have some details. I moved from Largo last year.

check out chinmotorsports.com . They have a small memebrship fee and host quite a few events in the southeast.
floridacorvetteracing.com does a few autocross events that I usually participate in as well. There are also open time trial track days at sebring, daytona, homestead. You just have to find the clubs that are hosting them.

you can also check out tamparacing.com. this is a forum and it has event sections specifically for drag, track, autox, car meets... The forum is filled with younger kids and ricers though, but u may be able to find some of the things you are interested in. Good luck!

Default Sebring

Second Chinmotorsports. You can drive almost anything you want.
Even a pick-up. Sebring is a great track, almost 4 miles around, lots
of curves and a fast back straight to turn 17. At the Chin site you
can see pictures of past events and get an idea of what is running.
Also, when you look at up coming events you can see the roster of
what type of cars are going to be there. Takes about two hours from
Tampa. I75 turn left on 64 and go East.
