Using 2 meter 2 way radio in C6
I want to install my 50 watt 2 meter 2 way radio in my 2008 c6 coupe
with an external adhesive mount antenna that is non- counterpose. Does anyone have experience with this? The manual has a warning that is vague, my dealer said OK. Thanks.

I don't see why it would be a problem except that the electrical signal may interfere with you fob detection. People have said that having cell phones near their fobs have caused a no fob detected message to appear. I'm not an expert on fobs but this could be what the manual is referring to.

I've had a Yaesu FT90 in my car. As mentioned, if you are transmitting while trying to perform a function requiring the fob, it likely won't properly detect the presence of the fob. But you aren't likely to be transmitting when opening a door or starting the engine, so this really isn't much of a concern. In the other direction, the car produces a lot of RF hash. You may need to experiment with antenna location, radio ground, etc in order to minimize inference to the radio by the car. I needed to use ferrite beads on the power leads and the antenna coax in order to avoid having weak signals squelch out due to RFI.
