Big thumbs up from a Porsche today
I was out early today en-route to a car show and the vert was gleaming. A beautiful black Porsche was traveling with me and when we stopped at a light I could tell the driver was looking me over through his heavily tinted window.
His car was really beautiful and I gave him a thumbs up and he immediately gave one back, just before he changed course and turned right.

Don't you just love that? I had a similar experience a few days ago with a guy in a Ferrari F430 passing by on opposite lane and turning his head like staring hard like I was driving the Ferrari.

Great! I appreciate many cars and it's a pleasure when you find an owner of another make who returns the favor.

I had something very similar happen a couple years ago. I was driving down the road and a nice, late model Porsche traveling the opposite direction gave me a big thumbs-up. It blew me away...I had to re-evaluate my whole opinion of Porsche owners.
Actually, I know some Porsche guys from racing and most them are pretty cool...they have their preferences like we all do but they appreciate any nice car.

Oh Come on. I own a Porsche and love it. They are great cars and in my opinion the one sports car I am willing to place in my garage with my Vette. I have a TT and it is wicked fast on take off, definetely faster than a stock Z06 and the handling is phenominal. Vettes are not the only sports car out there. They are expensive to drive but they are also VERY reliable this being the reason I would not consider a F or L. I am at 505 HP right now and will be adding a factory authorized (kind of) PCM control board bringing it up to 600 HP w/o loosing my warranty.
I cant speak for any Porsche guys (as I am a loner) but personally I am a very nice person and defintely not part of the wine and cheese crowd.

Always Wave
I have an 03 Ferrari 360 F1 Coupe and an 08 Vertical Corvette, when I'm driving the F Car I always wave at Corvettes.
Rarely do I get a wave in return.
So remember, just because someone is driving something other than a Corvette, doesn't mean there isn't one parked in the Garage.

It really comes down to the type of person you met. I met some Corvette owners that really give us a bad name. I'll wave at other nice cars, young or old. With real old ones I'll give them a thumbs up no matter what I'm driving.

I've owned a 07 Zo6 and have access to a 997tt (neighbor)...I have to disagree that the TT is faster...maybe off the line....the Z06 will pull on the TT after takeoff is over...I know from many runs and a unhappy neighbor..
Bye the way I've owned a 06 997S and a 07 Z06 and now a Procharged C6 Z51......I think the Corvette guys are more of performance car lovers then the porsche crowd.....they tend not to care so much about stats and performance....

I saw on TV where they are starting to market "add on boards" that run in piggy back to your factory PCM that modify the programing after it leaves the stock computer out to the car. That way you can just remove it before taking it into have service done.
No programming mods to their computer right?..
I don't know if its available for the Corvette though.

I agree and stated "wicked fast on take off". However, it also depends whether the Porsche is equipped with the Sports Chrono package (Factory Option). This I have making it even more difficult on a vette. With my soon to be new addition (New control Software, Manifolds, Headers, and Airbox will make it much funner) and I also tend NOT to generalize, I happen to love performance and stats. But as I said, I am a loner - I just love nice cars.
