Default popping in exhaust

Ok I added a full Z06 exhaust to my LS2. It sounds great at idle and at acceleration but it pops profusely on decelleration. Seems like I read on here that adding an X pipe will cure the problem. Is this true? If not, any other ideas? I don't like the popping at all! Thanks.

My NPP pops when I decelerate and have the M2W in the open mode and I LOVE IT.

I have heard that an x pipe will reduce this but but I don't know if it will eliminate it.

Are you running them in the open mode? They will pop since you are bypassing most of the muffling material. If they are closed, then I don't know why.

If you don't like the popping you could get an X-pipe to replace your H-pipe. That should reduce it significantly.

I don’t really care for the popping either.

My first decel with M2W open was like WTF is that…gave me the ‘ricer’ cringe.

I’ve since gotten used to it and it doesn’t bother me much anymore. Sure doesn’t sound like my SBC or BBC motors of yesteryear though.

i have an 08z06 and have done the muffler mod also running Mild2wild...

I Never got the burble on decel until I cut the canisters and modded them, my car has an H-pipe from the factory, and I *LOVE* the burble and pops I get on a 2nd gear dece at a light.

Dont know what to tell you except if you dont like the popping run in "mild" mode.

You have changed the flow and back pressure of the exhaust when you went to the Z06 system. Adding an X-pipe MAY help but it will not eliminate it all together.

Pressure waves in the exhaust.

I have the stock Z06 exhaust and get a slow burble on deccel in the 'Wild' mode. I'm about to put an Corsa X-pipe that will hopefully even that out a bit.

Never had any popping, however.

i love the popping i get on decel with my corsa pace cars. sounds mean as hell and scare people next to me. lol

the popping is a lean induced back fire. when you are on the gas, then let off, you lean out the a/f ratio momentarily causing the popping and crackling sound known as the lean induced backfire. it is not harmful to your vehicle.

I don't think an X will fix it though it may mask it....(imo)...A tune can fix it.

Personally I love it.

I have the NPP and MTW. With the baffles open the car sounds great but on decel it can sound poppy and even "farty". I like a good burble, but not a bad "farty". Do you know what I mean???

Same here with my '08 and NPP exhaust, popping in the Wild mode, nice and quiet in the Mild mode. I'm not changing a thing!

The X-pipe will reduce, but will not totally eliminate the popping on deceleration.
