Default The Aveo...

is not a car I would want.... but I'm rockin' a sweet black one for a couple days...oh man that thing is one bad *** ride: windows powered by arm-strong (special option right there, custome ordered for sure), manual side mirror adjustments, and, manual door locks (no fob)... But, I attribute it to the high performance nature of this vehicle: all this extra stuff add weight, and extra weight is not a race car's friend

you can clearly tell this puppy is build for speed, matter fact, I experienced front end "loosness" as I was going so fast...yeah you know, they didn't put on the special spoiler so when you hit high speed (above 55) it gets iffy...but I can handle it, I ain't skurd.
I'm gonna go hit a couple sweet on-ramps, I think if I lean into it (literally lean my body to the opposite side of the turn) I can hit 30mph...maybe 35...it's gonna be tough, I'll ask the wife to help out and lean too.

at least its something to get me from point A to point B while the "race car" is in for service...I guess I'll have to re-plan my departure times from home to work and add an extra 15 minutes
Good thing is: I get to park in the super close lot...the gravel lot...as opposed to way way way out in BFE to avoid "others" lol

aaahh good times!

So, the service dept gave me a call to let me know what's going on: looks like the rear-end axle seal is bad...they got the part in stock and they are working on it...they are gonna keep the car until tomorrow am to see first hand the 1-2 "clunky grinding" shift as well...even thought it completely goes away once warmed and doesn't really bother me that much, I figured, it's worth the shot.
They asked how was the "rental" and offered to upgrade me to something more "comfy" if they are going to work on the trans. That was pretty cool of them to offer and not wait for me to ask...

At least the engine keeps running when you come to a stop! Was traveling week before last, and since they were out of my rental classification, I was "upgraded" to a Honda Insight Hybrid.

Crazy little thing would shut off its engine each time it came to a stop at a red light or stop sign. My first experience with any sort of a hybrid, and I never could get used to it stopping like that!

The car can be purchased for under $10K forGODsake... what more do U want? Ironically it's actually a damn decent car for it's class... and I'd take it over the Yaris, Versa, Accent, and Fit any day of the week.

I'm still LMFAO at a Vette owner trying to judge a car like the Aveo with a clear head. Its like when I get outta my CTS-V or Vette and get into my G6... I don;t even try and compare them

There is nothing wrong about an Aveo.It is what it is! I personally like having a second car like that as a daily driver...cheap to own...low maintainence...and you can park it anywhere..(even Walmart). There was a time when that is all I could afford...so..I like the econo cars.I still miss my Sentra. It served me well!

Its about a bunch of people who raves and think that the Aveo is an American compact Chevy when its actually 100% Korean POS

The OP brought his Z in for service and is sharing his loaner car experience...

Love those Aveo's or Oreo's or Ahole's...whatever.

Enjoy Mirage, hope everything goes well with your Z...

You may have a lot of people that will want that Aveo in a few short years when gas is back up to $4.00 + a gallon or even sooner when Israel goes to war with Iran and the oil suppy from the straits of hormuz is cut off. The we will all want those little crappy cars even the poor quality ones made in Japan.

If the Aveo isn't suitable the OP should politely decline the loaner car and go rent something he'd feel more comfortable in.
