"In honor of jpee"
you'd buy a discontinued, non-classic car? why?

XLR-V is without a doubt a beautiful car, but lacks the sexy curves of the C6. Hands down I would keep the C6 which is faster and superior in just about every way. Not too long ago I owned an older Caddy Seville and I wouldn't own another car with a N* under the hood. Now, a Cadillac CTS-V on the other hand...

I did and have no regrets what-so-ever. I do have one of 211 09's built it was on display at the Detroit Auto Show. Traded in a 06 C6 vert. It will carry only one golf bag with the top down 5 with the top up. Had it dyno'd and puts down 388 rwhp 381 torque. Not too much fun in the mountains but runs with all the vettes ahead of most. Would not have traded the C6 without having a spare in the garage. One C5 and just had my GS delivered three weeks ago
The XLR-V is a very unique vehicle but not a vette even though it's on the same platform (too comfortable)

If you can fit in it - yes, do it. Check it for comfort carefully.
I could not get anywhere close to comfortable in that car.
It had no legroom......

While the XLR may be nice . . . the Corvette's a hard thing to give up.

If I was told that I had to get rid of my C6 coupe or my 2009 XLR-V, there would be no question which would go. I love both cars and get asked all the time which one I like better. Even though they are both fantastic rides I would take the XLR-V for sure.
The car has been aptly described as a Corvette in a Tuxedo and it certainly is. It gets much more attention and comments than any of the other cars I have ever owned. Most often I get asked if it is a Corvette and how beautiful it is. The luxuries and performance coupled with the sweet hard top is just fantastic.
Thankfully, I don't have to make that decision. I am fortunate to be able to keep both. You really have to see a XLR-V in person. I will post a couple pics, but they just don't do the lines justice. I guess because I'm not much of a photographer.
I posted this the other day, but I'll give you the total production numbers here. The bottom line is if you have the opportunity to buy one and it has a clean title and everything checks out I say go for it. There are 10 of thousands of C6's around to buy any less than 2200 XLR-V's.
XLR-V PRODUCTION:
2006 = 1147
2007 = 410
2008 = 392
2009 = 239
Total: 2188

E-mail I recieved from Dana Wallace at the Bowling Green plant reflected only 211 built in 2009 but their must have been some on the line when I inquired.
