Default Mild2Wild install question

Just received my Mild2Wild switch on the door step today. Probably a dumb question, but should I worry about the battery drain issue mentioned in the installation instructions? The "Zero Drain Install" instructions don't appear to make things much harder, but I don't know if this is really an issue or not. I'll probably drive the car a few times per week until winter sets in and then it might sit for a few weeks at a time until I can find a snow/salt free day to drive it around the block. I might pick up a battery tender to keep the battery charged also. What do you all think?

Mine is the standard install and sounds like I use my car about the same as yours. It works fine, no battery issues. If your going to store the car more than a few weeks I'd suggest a battery tender or disconnect the battery which I did last winter for 5 months with no issues (just don't leave you FOB in the car and also make sure you have access to openning the hood, had to point it out). When you reconnect the battery all you need to do is re-index the windows, everything else seems to keep it's memory.

Perfect, I'll go the standard route then. I just wanted to check with someone who had the experience. Thanks for the input.

And a Battery Tender for Winter storage is a must.

If you leave the car with the switch in the open position (red button) the drain is very small and for a matter of fact, one member couldn't measure any drain at all.

My driving routine is EXACTLY the same as yours. In the winter, my vette comes out maybe 2-4 times a month (unless it's like it was 2 years ago when it snowed twice the entire winter and rain washed it away within 24 hours both times ).

my M2W is the standard install as well and I have no issues.

I've made it a habit to turn the M2W off (quiet) when parking here at the house, just to be safe.
Have yet to experience a problem, to date.

A battery tender, OTOH, is SOP anytime these C6 cars are stored for any length of time.

I left mine parked with the valves open for several days and the battery died on me.

I don't know if it was the M2W and am starting to believe that the computer just didn't turn something off when I shut down the car (read a few threads about mystery battery drain) because I have had no problem after this one and I still leave the butterflies open all the time.

The normal position of the valves is open when the car is not running.

That leads me to believe that the car simply didn't turn off all the electrics on that shut down. Like I said, I have read a few 'mystery" drained battery posts (not the "i didn't leave it in reverse" kind) where the poster said that the dealer didn't find anything wrong and it didn't happen again.

Hope I fall into that group.

Ok, I'll add my two cents worth. You own a car which is prone to unexplained battery drain issues and you have the chance to install this item with a "zero" drain option.....hummmm....install with zero drain, (as I did mine) and use a Battery Tender once she is sleeping for the winter, which in my case in Ligonier is usually 4 to 5 months. The only downside to the zero drain option is that at start up, the valves are "open" and it's a little louder. JMHO....

Isn't there an old saying
"If you don't have time to do it right, when will you have time to do it over?"

I'm so confused; I thought the valves were operated by engine vacuum.

What does the M2W switch do to cause an electrical drain?

I installed mine using the zero drain, will start in the open position but if you want just use the remote and close them. I've had it installed for over a year and no issues.
