I will be picking up my 2010 CG at Bowling Green on Thursday and the forecast does not look good. Any advice on what I should do once I get it home and the rain stops?
I was planning to put some REJEX on it before leaving the Museum but that may not be possible. I know it won't melt but I want to protect the finish ASAP and I sure don't want any permanent water spots!
I assume I am being a little paranoid about my new car?

Good Lord!
I barely cleared the lot with my 2009 CG convertible when it began to rain like a cow ****ing on a flat rock.
To me it was just a way to test for leaks because none of my cars were ever garage queens and my 5th Corvette wasn't going to be one, either.
Peace, out.

I also picked mine up on a rainy day.....I fretted over it for nothing though. It was hard to watch it being backed out into the rain from the NCM. But.....despite pounding rain all the way from Bowling Green to Knoxville, the engine compartment didnt show a bit of dirt or water. I was shocked when I opened the hood....still looked like it did on the NCM delivery line. I have to admit that I did go out with the hose and hose off the car and underneath before it dried on. The only thing I did do before I left the NCM was put on stone guards...they worked fine. My NCM delivery man helped me put them on in the bay leading outside. Just enjoy the moment....dont worry about the rain. It will still shine like a new penny (or is that a dime these days?). Have fun!

Thanks for the input. I won't worry about it. I'm just going to be grinning ear to ear all the way back home.
I'll give it a good cleaning as soon as I get back.

It rained for 2 days - all the way back to Texas when we picked our car up last year. That was the down side but there was an up side. Self service car washes are empty when it rains so that is where I went to install my Mild to Wild, rock/mud guards and soft bra for the trip. Also, the rain made it easier to follow the break-in schedule. It got a good cleaning when we arrived home and survives to this day! Nice weather would have been more enjoyable but all in all - things have a way of working out. For the record, my first ride in the sun was met with a rock to the windshield - 2 small chips from that outing. You just never know so be careful and enjoy your car!!

Congrats on your new Corvette.
After your car leaves the assembly plant it sits around back two weeks in all kinds of weather. Then, they detail it for your museum pick-up. Do not worry about a rainy pick up. Your experience will be the high light of ownership, and you will never forget it.

Seems to me vette's have been rained on during transit before and nothing bad occured.
It's not like the car carriers they use are covered or protected like what they use for the XLR.
The car won't know or care.

Drive it, enjoy it and be safe. Once home you can spend some time cleaning it up.
