Default How any current corvette owners

had a mustang(s) back in the day? I had two:

1) 1988 LX 5.0
2) 1993 LX 5.0

The cars only had 225hp and 300lbs of torque, but they felt fast and sounded great! Although my Z is a beast in a class well above the stangs, I wouldn't mind owning one again if I had the room for another toy.

Default Back in the day

Was a long time before you had one.

Mine was a 1967 GTA Fastback, 390 Hi performance option, in the exact color I found on this one at a local car show. Mine wasn't a Shelby.

Why oh why did I trade it in on a 71 Monte Carlo.

I had a 65 Fastback long ago. Wouldn't mind still having it today, oh well.

I still own my '69 Mustang fastback that I bought from a guy in Columbus, Ohio. The car was from Pheonix, Arizona and I bought it in 1983. I've owned it for 26 years and still haven't finished restoring it!

Previously owned a 1998 Mustang, but sold it before we moved to Hawaii 2 years ago. Once we get the wife's PT Cruiser paid off we will be looking for a stablemate for the Vette. She said she would take the Vette and I could get anything I wanted. Sounds like maybe a new Z06 may be in my future.

Default We don't need no stinking----

Talk about "Back in the Day". I had a '68 Fastback in 1970. Toasted the clutch and sold that sister for $800. Never looked back!

Until 2005, the Mustangs were always horrible to drive, IMO.
I never understood why anyone liked them.
The 2005 & later Mustangs are much better cars - and I think they're quite a bit more enjoyable.
But no, I've never owned one.

Until I had the $$ to buy a Vette I had 3. A 65 GT 289 HIPO vert, a 69 Grande and a 84 SVO. I now have a 08 4LT Coupe and a 08 GT500 with Shelby's autograph on the dash (the garage queen).

In 1965 thru 68 they were great drivers. I doubt any production cars from 1960's would compare to today's cars.

4 speeds and 3 speed auto's are now 6 speeds, Weight is way down, tires better, Suspensions better, ect ect, but the Shelby slightly modified 65 & 66 Mustangs, running in SCCA B Production ate B Production Vettes at SCCA events all over the country.

In the early 70's I bought a 65 without an engine or trans. It was originally a six, auto. I installed a 289 four speed. Wow.

I presently have three Mustang's along with my two Corvette's. My wife drives a 98 Mustang convertible, my daily driver is a 07 Mustang coupe, and I also have a 2001 Bullitt GT.
