Default No Deal Today

I just tried to get the $77/year per radio deal for 2 radios. They were not willing to give me the deal. I was nice and explained that others were getting the deal and I wanted it as well, but they would not budge.

I'll try calling again (my subscription expires the end of November). If they don't give me the deal before my expiration date I'll cancel. The service is not worth any more than $77/yr to me.

Thanks guys,
Just got set up for $77/yr. No paper billing fee, No Royalties (they said the royalties are mandatory but that they would reduce my fee by that amount.
Total cost. $77/yr w/ paper billing and no, they did not get my credit card numbers.

All I did is told them what I wanted. It took a total of 1 telephone transfer to the promotions dept. and a 5 minute conversation to set it up.

Pretty painless actually

Thanks again all!

Yes, I just got the 77.00 for one more year. CF member stated if you call in the morning you have better luck. It worked for me or so I hope.

I subscribed Lifetime Sirius

I do the $77 for the XM.
XM and Sirius now should be using the same hardware on their end (the encoding to send it to the radio's obviously still differs, but I think the new satellite even shoots both signals).

I think XM versus Sirius sound quality has a lot to do with the hardware the user has. Sirius in my Jeep is crappy and drops out all the time FWIW, however XM in the Corvette is fine. My buddies with other Chrysler products say that Sirius on their cars is equally spotty.

I just renewed mine for 77 plus half off the music royalty fee.
Just call and say you want to cancel, tell them you don't use it enough.
They will verify all your info and then offer you half off.

so, I'm not clear. I have existing XM in a sequyia. They may have my charge card but not sure. My 3 month xm will expire on the vette in January.
Are you all saying you can get $77/year for two radios's or more? OR $77 per vehicle?

I am glad I searched for the Royalty Fee here. I will now try and get my Murano on the $77 a month deal. The wife wanted to get her mother a Home system too, I might as well try for the $77 there too. This is the XM everything package I am assuming (no best of Sirius stuff).

I have Sirius in my 300 SRT8 and have found going under freeway bridges I will lose signal. With the Murano and a proior DTS rental car I can be in my garage or in a parking structure and still get a signal. It also looks like for the everything packages in general for both (normal price) starting at $12.95 XM is better with 170 channels compared to Sirius with 130.

I have 4 vehicles with XM right now, but I am about to cancel all of them. Tired of their games and BS.

I called in to cancel and just said cash is tight- said it like I meant it (because it is true). After a little bit of conversation, I said I might renew on paper(invoice me) if I could get the $77 deal and a bill in the mail just in case I had some money in January.

XM called me a week ago about my 3 month free deal on my new 2010 5.3 Colorado. I told them i sold back the truck and don't have it anymore and never call me again.

After hearing all the bad stuff about XM i want nothing to do with them.

CHASLS2 - what bad stuff have you heard? Is it mainly the autobilling that they do?

Everything is negotiable in this world. They have people staffed up whose only job is to give you a 77 dollar a year plan to stop you from quitting the service. Call them, tell them you want out and they will give you the offer. I did this with XM, Onstar and Sirius yesterday. My wife's Mustang has Sirius.

The old Sats are different, I think that Radio Sat 5 does both, if not the next one they launch will (I can't remember if Radio Sat 5 was built before the merger was completed).

I got a lifetime subscription for $350 last year. I don't think they will know when I sell the car so it should be good for a long time.

Except the subscription is linked to the radio ID number..... So yea, they do not care whe you sell the car. THe new owner will enjoy your lifetime subscription.

Sounds like the bill me method where they send you a bill before it expires.

Call them before your acct. expires, and tell them you aren't renewing. Or before it renews call for the $77 deal. If one rep won't work with you hang up and try another. I pay with a virtual CC which I set the expiration date, or with on line banking.
