New tires: Firestones or the Michelins?

Firestones, like the vette itself, offer the most bang for the buck. If you don't like taking chances with a flat runflats are the best answer. The Firestone offers the best ride, grip, wear, and price.

how many of you guys with the Firestones live in areas where the temps get below 40 degrees?
that is the only thing I am stuck on. (I drive my vette year round, just not in rain or snow)

Have Michelin PS2 ZP (runflats) on "base" C6. About 4 months. Much, much quieter than GYs, cannot say much about handling because I don't track or otherwise drive competitively. But no rain issues, and we have had tons of rain this summer. All other respects, as good as or better than GYs.
No additional road hazard offered (Tires Plus) on the rears -- fronts OK -- told me they have size limits for R/H warranty.
Buy 'em again? Absolutely.

"In honor of jpee"
its funny, most of you say "Search" and if you do search, most of the threads come back with similar posts, use the "search"..........so why even bother to waste time to say search?
anyway, my biggest concern was the road hazards. I called around to local shops, and none of them sell road hazards with run flats. I have read about the firestones and their stance on repair. I am just curious as to why tire rack is the only one selling the road hazard warranty?

I've had my PS2s for just over 12000 miles with no complaints. They've been on the road course and a few very spirited GTGs. They smoke the supercar tire in every aspect. I am considering a street R compound for my next set.

for what it's worth, GY customer service said that every GY F1 RFT comes with a road hazard as part of the warranty package and part of the tire price. no extra coverage needed. that is what they did on one of my tires so atleast it worked that way for me. may be the same with the Firestones and Michelins as well - check with their national customer service centers.

It is not just firestones but all max/ultra high summer performance will suffer somewhat when it gets cold. If you drive in a lot of 40 below temps then PS2 ZP A/S might be an option and they cost around the FS price. If you drive below 40 once in awhile then some extra care may be all that is needed.

The search function will turn up the information that Firestone's official policy is NO repairs on a C6 runflat that has been driven at all below 15 psi.
So it's a runflat that you shouldn't run flat.
They do have a good road hazard warranty ptogram.
Goodyear says that repair is based on the condition of the tire, if you went less than 25 miles at less than 55 mph then that shouldn't damage the tire. Up to 100 miles at 55 mph if you're willing to trash it.
Don't know about Michelin.
Edited: Changed runflat distance for Goodyear tires.

I put FWO on about 1000 miles ago and what a freakin difference, They are more quite than the GY and the grip is way better! Best deal of all that I looked at before I bought, JMO.
