Should of have the use it when I can option. Great option though. One of the main reasons I did not seriously consider a Z.

I've had my car a year and a half. Never had it off. For all the creaking and popping I experience, especially when it's hot, I guess I should take it off to get some benefit to offset the aggravation! Maybe this is the secret--I should just take the top off and leave it off. That would probably fix the creaking and popping!

It helped me convince the wife to get it in the first place. She was on board with "the Vette thing", but was more of an "I'm happy if you're happy" thing. Then we test drove the car with the roof off and she was grinning from ear to ear (I was, too).

If it's between 50 and 95 degrees, the roof is off. Bald spot be damned!

For the life of me I can't understand why someone would not take their targa top off? Ok if the weather is to blazing hot or something I understand but on a nice day.... why not?

It's one of the things that makes the coupe a special car. You only go around once people! Take the top off, enjoy the great out doors and get some use out of the popping top!

From May through September I usually just leave it off unless weather forces otherwise.... It's a great feature to enjoy.........

Totally agree - it makes my trip to work in the morning and home in the afternoon a different experience. Cruising on warm spring and summer evenings is great and feeling those cool fall afternoons and evenings is the best. I've got to have either a vert or targa - as much as I would love to have a Z, I want to be able to take the top off. Feeling that air, smelling the fresh-cut grass - it greatly reduces stress and raises the spirits.

What about - "Have one, use it occasionally" ????????? I'd answer YES to that one. None of the others relates.

Default Removable Roof

I love this option. I just purchased a Cabrella sport top from CCA so I can leave the top off and not get dust in the interior. Nice to drive with the top off during the day, wonderful to cruise with it off on warm summer nights.

I normally use it on a friday or when its real nice outside and feel like just going for a drive. Exhaust sounds better with it off too.

I think the coupe offers the best of both worlds. The Z06 is fixed roof and the convertible has a cloth top. With the coupe you can either remove the top for a convertible like feel or leave it on. At least with the coupe you have options.

It's off in the AM, on from 11 to about 7PM then off again. Warm evening cruising with wife. Life is good. Love the removable Corvette top. As a former Porsche owner, I agree with LarryMJones, I've never felt comfortable calling it a Targa top. This is not a flame, just my preference.

The primary reason I sold my Z06 was lack of an open air option. The targa is definitely a plus for me.

It is extremely easy to remove/store and fetch/install so your first poll option shouldn't get many votes. Since I rarely remove mine I'm left with only option #2. But I haven't lost interest. I just prefer the top on BUT it must be a clear top so I can see the clouds and birds go buy. I bought the liner because everyone kept saying the clear top was hot (I'm on the Gulf Coast much of the time) and the liner would make it cooler. Yes, the liner makes it a little cooler when parked outside in the midday sun for hours but it is claustrophobic not being able to see the sky all the time.

So, my answer is that I don't remove the top very often but I wouldn't want a painted top either.

I sold my 08Z, & am buying a Grand Sport 6 speed manual coupe with the glass roof cause I got tired of the closed in feeling of the solid roof in the Z06. Won't take it off much( I also have an 06 C6/A6/F55 coupe), but the option is there if I want to.

I've used it anywhere from 50-100 degrees. Z06 owners would like to believe that someone would not go from a Z06 to a C6.

With the windows up, not that much. Windows down? Depends on how fast you are going. Up to 60 or so it doesn't bother me.
