The buyer came over to my house and test drove M3. He was instantly in love with the condition and mileage of the car. My M3 was a 2003.5k SMG with 51,141 miles. We both agreed to $23,500 and on the spot buyer made a automatic payment to my bank over the phone. The payment just cleared so I am happy. Here is a pic. No more BMWs for a while. I'm not even sure if thats a man's car or what.

Congrats on the sale, I have loved every E46 M3 I have ever driven...it is a man's car no doubt. The Corvette is just of a different breed. Two outstanding vehicles each with their own strengths and weaknesses. I think most will agree the bang for the buck factor of the C6 is a real turn on!
(I'm a euro guy, looking to buy a C6 in the next year.)

Thanks, my friend and I both sold our E46 M3s this month. One of the many reason was that we are working men that pay bills and work for a living. It seems like 80% of the BMW owners are rich kids 16-26 that who parents buy them these 40k+ cars. Most of them I have met in person are pure douche bags. I didn't want to be associated with these guys so I had to let this car go.

I love your logic lol.
Thats like saying.....
"It seems like 80% of the Corvette owners are old men 50-60 who watch Nascar and drink Budweiser all day. Most of them I have met in person are pure trash. I didn't want to associated with these guys so I had to let this car go."
sorry but I don't agree with your statement. Just because you "work" and are a "man" doesn't mean Bimmers are for teenies with rich parents.

I can not wait for my lemon law court date with my POS E93, then it's time for another Vette

I think the E39s and E46s were the best cars BMW ever built and also the best looking. After 2003, I just could never get excited about the styling, except for maybe the new 335. I would certainly say that an M3 is a man's car, especially if its driven like its made to be driven. That said, you will love the C6, whatever your rationale for switching! Your M3 buyer is happy, you'll be happy - life is good!

THe M3 is definitely a nice car, but I think you'll be more impressed with the C6Z, at least with the performance. Your maintenance bill will probably decrease as well since it's a Chevy. Have fun Z shopping!

Interesting thread, I am going from a C6 to a M3 convertible. I need a back seat, best car I can find that is a vert, auto, abck seat is the M3. No doubt, performance wise the C6 wins but seating 4, the M3 is an consideration.

Congrats! There was another thread here about someone going the other way. I really have no interest in BMWs and I actually owned one before. They are just a different style of driving, high revving but lacking low end torque. Their auto tranny in the new 3 series diesel sedan is actually made by GM. Losing interest in Audi with their small engine technology also. I would go with MB or Jag if I wanted something to go with my Vette.
