The correct expression is, "black isn't a color, it's a part time job".

My Z51 coupe has to be my 6th or 7th black DD.

I also notice scratches coming out of nowhere, too. Waterspots and swirls are a PITA, I agree.

The worst time to own a black car is immediately after the first drive after it has been washed and waxed. It will look terrible to you. I'll drive a few more days and then I get used to it being less than perfect. Like I said, I've had quite a few black cars and am very used to dealing with them. They clean right up. Swirls and scratches can be handled with a Flex polisher. No biggie.

Black is a very "rich" looking color on any car. I think it's really classy. You need to get used to the bug marks, tiny scratches and dust. I rarely ever see any other black C6s on my daily drive - strange, because black is such a popular color. I do see lots of yellow, blue and red cars.

I'm SOOOOOOO glad I got millennium yellow and not black. When I was looking all I wanted was black and I was real close to pulling the trigger on one. I'd pick any color in the C6 lineup over black.

I am convinced that I should only judge the cleanliness of my car from about 15-20 feet away looking at the ENTIRE car. Staring at the front end or deep into the paint will drive me nuts.

I have owned my black C6 for 2 months now, and it has been clean (I mean really clean) for 2 hours.

What is it about washing a black car on Saturday that makes it rain on Monday?

I've had black cars and I still think a vette looks best in black. But, I don't think I could ever have another black car - too much time involved and everything, absolutely everything, shows.

Black c6s are the most beautiful and awesom looking C6s period.

Just Zaino the living hell out of it and drive it.

Yeah, there will be minor inperfections YOU'LL see while you are cleaning the car (and a black sharpie goes a long way) but no one else will see them from the distance most people see your car as it is passing them.

All they see is the sweetness of the mirrored reflection off the black with zaino that looks good even if the car is a little dusty and they'll wish they had a black C6 also that looks that damn sweet.

Plus, you see the reflections off your own hood and that is sweet also.

It's all good.
I LOVE my black C6!

I've had a black F150, loaded, top of the line trim ... but could never keep it clean. Sorry, but there is no way to keep black perfect.

It sure looks good when clean but I don't want another black car!!

A big part of the problem is the paint itself... GM quality paint on a fiberglass Corvette... don't expect much. 81k daily driven miles on my black car, and yes, you can see all the imperfections.

Interesting side - silver owners say their color hides imperfections... is that because they blend in with the color silver, an imperfection?

I enjoyed my VY the most out of all the colors. LMB was just about as hard to keep clean as Black. When got the CTS-V I wanted Thunder Grey but got a heck of a deal on a Black, my 96 Impala SS is Black and my wifes DD is an 08 Black Granite TBSS.
Lots of time spent cleaning cars. Fortunately a three car garage helps keep them clean.

My '02 Camaro was black. Looked beautiful when it was clean. But 20 minutes after I washed it I could already see the fine sheen of dust all over it. I'll never buy another black car lol.

But.....ARRGGGGGG defects like small scratches, swirls, spots, stains, bug marks, smears, etc appear out of nowhere. Just when I think I've got them or know where they all are.....they appear somewhere else on the car. I swear all I have to do is look at it long enough and something else will show up. Code 41U black paint should be renamed 666U as I'm convinced it was invented by the devil himself.

Any tips for owning and caring for a black daily driven C6, (besides a prescription for valium)?? It is one of the most popular C6 colors. How do you all live with it??

You ain't kidding. I mean WTF! I too thought I had all the swirls, small scratches etc. marked off, and then all of a sudden a few more show up after just going around the FN corner pretty much. I don't get it.
