Stress cracking headlight?
Walked around my C6 vert and noticed the front left headlight had small 1/8" in length, more less, stress cracks, lots of them. Swung by the dealer, turned out it will not be covered by warranty (47,000 miles) and to replace it, a little over a grand. But, the thing that got to me was this, GM said chemicals could cause the problem, no problem there, or washing it with soap and water (excess improperly diluted soap). What? soap and water? The right headlight is pristine. Same soap used on both. In addition, the body shop said the damage looked to be coming from the inside, not the outside.
Decided to live with it for awhile at least unless it gets worse. Plan on trading at the end of the year anyway. Next time, a Porsche or BMW? Kidding.

the headlight plastic is crap and gm's response is even crappier. they'll say anything to keep from replacing them. it happens to most c6s, unless they're garage queens i guess.

Probably lucky they still answer the phone now that they are Govt. Motors. At least the right light looks good and my last C6, no problems with the lights on that one at all. I'm assuming then the 2010 will have the same potential problem.

I had the same issue, and the same response from my dealer; well my dealer said it was caused when an object struck the light! I also tried to polish it out, but since the crazing is on the inside it was a waste of time. I'm installing a new light assembly myself, although it appears to be a rather difficult job for an amateur!

I had the same thing and used the TSB to get the dealer to honor a warranty replacement. Thank you forum members for that TSB back in February...saved me $900.00. And why not use glass instead of the lowest bidder plastic? Oh well...

I have heard of a few getting the light(s) replaced under factory warranty but none under extended or no warranty.

I know the above sounds harsh, but it's true. If the OP were under warranty or had GMPP bumper-to-bumper and GM tried to weasel out, I would agree 100% that it was a lame move, but unless OP states otherwise, that is not the case.
My guess is something hit the headlight. An impact very well might cause cracking from the inside out. If it flexed the plastic, it would flex inward, placing the most stress on the inner portion of the lens.
Best bet is to have the lights wrapped in Venture shield or something equivalent to mute the impact of any road debris. My lights are done and you can't even tell unless I point it out. Even if you don't do the rest of the front, the lights probably won't run you more than $50-100 installed. Well worth it.

There are forum vendors that will sell you replacement plastic or you can ship them your lights, they will change the plastic and return them to you. This is less expensive than purchasing the complete assembly.
