Default Is XM still running cheaper deals if you wait?

Used to be you waited a couple months and they would offer 1/2 price. Anyone Know if they are still doing this? DO they require a reactivation fee?

Thanks

If my contract ended today, they would be gone even at the $7 a month I'm paying right now. I'm listening to CDs more everyday.

After four years of 60/77/77/77 dollars they would not renew me for a 5th year at the discounted rate. I walked away and don't care, didn't listen that much any way. My 6 month Sirius trial for my Ford Edge is about to expire and Sirius doesn't seem to be offering any deals, so I'll walk again. The Sirius Travel Link sure is nice though, instant weather forecasts, ball scores, gas prices and movie tickets. Just too damn much money. The hard drive in the Sync system is really all I need--e

They are slezy.
They sent a bill saying I own $386 for a new 3 year renewal. That was the only option on the bill! I sent $79 for 1 year renewal. $77 plus $2 "billing fee" Not good enough. They called and wanted to know why not the $386. Because I only want 1 year! So they then said since the subscription was up in June I own another $14 prorated to July 20 on top of the $79. I paid it since it is in the wif's Honda.

I discontinued XM in the Corvette last year. Having two cars with XM I asked if there was any kind of discount. The guy told me yes. Get this: Normally he said it would be $146 for the year but with the 2 car discount $89. No thanks. And again they billed me pro-rated for 6 weeks over the subscription end date.

I called them like a month prior to the expiration date. Told them I wanted to cancel my subscription as of the end date. I was given $77 quote for each radio. No discount codes or anything, just discounted.

Default Why Wait?

You don't have to wait. I called last week and got the $77 deal, just say you would like to cancel because it just is not worth what they want. I didn't even have to get transferred to the special cancellation dept....Guess it depends who you get on the phone.....

My last annual deal expired June 23rd. Still waiting for a "deal" to renew. I guess I will have to call them and ask why they didn't cancel when I had put it in writing to them last May.

Default thanks guys

is in the wifes new car so don't have a choice, she loves her tunes. Will try to call early and see if I get a nice one that'll give me the discount. I would never do the lifetime thing because of the instability, have a sirius sub already, but no discounts for multiples anymore I guess.

Guys,
I hope you all know it is going up again on july 29. They say this rate hike is due to music royalties. 1.99 per month on the primary radio and 0.97 on each additional radio. Have been told about this three different times in the last week. (called several time due to being owed and have yet to refund)

I have Sirius AND XM installed in both my Corvette and my Hummer and after the merger and all the stations merging I cancelled Sirius and XM. XM bent over backwards to keep me by giving me 5 months free on both my actuve subs and activated the receiver on my Harley with no fees. Next year I will be expecting the same deal or they are gonzo.

Our 2009 is one month into the three month free trial. This evening a woman from XM called (good english but bad connection) and offered me the $77 rate immediately. Plus a $2 fee for the paper billing; I use only money orders to pay them. That's OK. But she said that effective July 29, there will also be a $1.98/month royalty fee to the artists, that works out to an additional $23.76/year.

I like XM enough to pay the extra $23.76 if it's a valid charge. But if they are lieing about it, then I'll cancel. Does anyone know?

Default be nice if there was some continuity

I guess it all depends on who you ask and when and that sucks. I followed some of your advice and called a couple days before the free 3 ended and they said "okay bye". no offers, no deals, no conversation.

We'll see if I get anything in the mail. Havent heard of an increase in my sirius though.

I'm on the $4.99 a month deal for 6 months on all three of my radios. If it goes up, I'm gone. I like it, but still can't believe that I actually pay to listen to the radio.

I also renewed last week. The first rep would not deal so I asked to cancel. The cancellation rep agreed to the $77.00 + $2.00 for invoice without any discussion. Sent them a bank check yesterday.

Last two renewal the first rep gave me the $77.00 deal. Just guess it depends who you get.

I got my renewal last week, 168$ Canadian, before taxes. I only pay by cheque and will never give them a CC. I called to cancel today and she offered 125$ before taxes, to which I replied, "everyone on my car forum in the USA gets 77$ a year", and so she gave me 95$ again, in CDN funds for a year so I took it.
