Make sure you do not do that during Cold weather
or you will repeat what you said above while spinning off the road.

Yep it is quite a feeling, my wife and I still laugh and tell the story of the time I first floored it. Man what power!!!

Drifting
I agree!
When I got my C6, Z51, 6spd a few weeks ago, I went about half throttle a few times just to feel it out. I immediatly realized that the power band is so wide that it is no wonder people lose control of these beasts.
Mind you, I used to race a mid 9 second Camaro, had a 71 SS 454 Chevelle and currently have a 71 LS5 Corvette. I have no problem mashing the throttle on those cars and plowing through the gears, but I still am not quite full throttle comfortable with the C6........yet......................

but my wife had a lot more to say than that the first time I floored it in 40 degree weather. Thing got completely over in the other lane and she had such a death grip on my right arm I thought she was going to squeeze it off.

That horizon comes up pretty fast, don't it? It was a little shocking when the thought popped into my head, " I need another hundred horsepower" as I was driving hard up the mountain for the first time. At some point the guy in the ZR1 must say the same thing (but probably on a steeper mountain). Too much may never be enough.

That "flooring" of the pedal will certainly wake you up and get your instant attention. Plants you right into the seat and hard. No mistaking the power available.

Cuz - it scared me to death. I get on it allot on the freeway but never really floor it like the other two times. Good gosh these cars can fly............it's a pretty awesome feeling.

I have the A6 so I don't know how it is in a manual but I love when I push it to the floor while cruising and it momentarily hesitates, the back end goes down, front comes up and it takes off like a rocket.
I'm giggling even as I'm writing this.

I'd been flooring the cars on test drives and was impressed but when I floored it on the one with the Lingenfelter package and used up both lanes of road, I knew that was the one I wanted. I had to wipe the grin off my face before going back to the dealer so I could negotiate in my favor. Took me two weeks, but got it for my original offer and been grinning ever since... I don't floor it on a regular basis but gotta get that rush every now and then and just knowing what it can do if I choose to is a nice feeling.

I have to say, the feeling is something you never forget. This car is unbelievably powerful and I LOVE IT! I probably will not ever have to floor it again....but it sure does feel good to have that option.
