Here's a link to your owner's manual. See Section 6. http://www.c6registry.com/Technical/2005OM.pdf

If you're low on gas you might need a fill-up, that's all

You don't need a full blown 30K, but there is some sutff that I would take care of. I would highly recommend a trans flush/fluid change, gear oil change, LOF, and at least a good once over under the car to make sure it's all there.

If you bought a Vette, then don't be too cheap to at least take care of it. You should see what some of the fluids coming out of freeway driven/babied cars look like after 30K.

According to the 2005 owner's manual, page 6-5, you should be doing these items every other oil change:
Inspect suspension and steering components. See footnote (b).
Inspect engine cooling system. See footnote (c).
Inspect wiper blades. See footnote (d).
Inspect restraint system components. See footnote (e).
Lubricate body components. See footnote (f).
Replace passenger compartment air filter. See footnote (j).
In addition, you should have done these items at 25K:
Inspect fuel system for damage or
leaks.
Inspect exhaust system for loose or
damaged components.

Check:
  • Tires
  • Brake pads
  • Air filter / passenger compartment Filter
  • Alignment

Maybe Egine oil/filter (see DIC for oil life)

Well Billy, I got pretty blasted on here for getting the 30K mile service. Actually spoke to the dealer about it and their story was - depends on your driving routine and conditions, where you live, etc.

I didn't spend $60K on a car to treat it like crap. It's my DD and I put allot of miles on it so it doesn't get to sit in a garage day in and day out. I finally felt like the service was warranted in Houston heat (esp since it's been well over 100 degrees for 2 months), is dry and dusty.

That's my take anyway.

Lick Our Fingers. Some dealers want more than just to take the money of people who won't take the time to learn about their car from the manual but rather just trust everything the dealer says. Kinky, huh?
