Car got keyed
This is a rant...please excuse. Drove to Arlington Tuesday, ate at a restaurant. Parked in the very back of the parking lot, no other vehicles even close. Came out, SUV parked within 6 inches of my car. Looked at side of car and found key marks across passenger side door and rear quarter. I think I turned 4 shades of red, but I did NOT touch the other vehicle, even though I wanted to, and should bave busted all the windows out it. Plenty of parking too. Wasn't like there were limited spaces. And an upscale restaurant too. We'll see later if the marks buff out or not. What does one do? Thanks.

it's a mexican thing, here in salinas anything nice in those "hoods" gets keyed, I had new people move in near me and both their cars are keyed a few of us went over to "Welcome" them and pointed out that it won't be tolerated in this "hood"

There are jerks everywhere.
What I try to do, after being spit on, having Coke sprayed on it, and other childish things done to mine, is to park where I can see it. If the hostess doesn't comply with my wishes, I'll even go back to the lot and move it to where I can see it.
I enjoy driving it so much, that I'll put up with some nonsense, but I don't know how I'd react to being keyed. I hope I never find out.
Good Luck buffing.

Tough to control your emotions, really would be kind of stupid for the people in the SUV to key your car and then park next to it. But on the other hand people who do this type of destruction are STUPID. I might have called the police to at least get it on record, but not sure what good that would do either. Good luck with the repairs and sorry to hear about the act of vandalism.

You don't know for sure that the guy with the SUV keyed the car.
Sorry this happened to you. Can't you shoot somebody in Texas for doing this?

My sincere sympathies.
What does one do? Well for this one (me), it's simple: I never park out in the boonies, for exactly this reason. I park close to the entrance and/or close to areas where there is a lot of traffic or visibility, for exactly this reason. The wicked fears the light.

I wouldn't assume the guy in the SUV did this. He would be leaving his car there for retaliation. I think probably he is just an inconsiderate parker, and somebody else keyed your car. Now if you have a chip in the door, then you could more likely assume it was this guy opening his door into your car and not caring.
Sorry about your car. Some people are just jerks.

What a pisser. That's why I am better off leaving my guns at home. But.... welcome to the world we live in. A bunch of lazy, dumb, no working jerks who are jealous of those who are successful and resent it that they are not handed their fortunes on platter.

had it done to mine the first month I owned it. worked on it to buff as much out as I could and only I know its there. as for parking, I didn't change a thing - my son's Honda Fit got keyed as well so I figure if they want to key something, its going to happen. its a car, I drive it as much as I can and try not to worry about what might or could happen down the road.

Cops could care less & the a-holes know it. Even if they did care, they don't, getting evidence would be near impossible, unless a security camera was filming the lot.
I still would have called the cops, that way you’d have more power to get footage from a camera, if any.
BTW: you might try going after the lots owners, they most likely have insurance, if buffing doesn't work.
Good Luck

As some have said...I can't prove the guy who parked next to me did it. All I can say is...it was not done before. I washed it that morning, no scratch, drove to Arlington, stopped and ate, and when I came out, the scratch was there. Its just a car, and cars will get scratched. Like I started out by saying, I'm just ranting. Really, just wanted to advise others about being aware. I tried to park away from everyone else so this wouldn't happen. Oh well...life goes on. Thanks eveyone, it is appreciated.
