Default A4 v/s A6

Trying to find a 05 or 06 DSOM C6 I want an Auto so the wifey can drive (when I let her). The question I have is the A6 auto that much better than the A4?

Thanks Chad

Some say the A4 is a stronger unit. Personally, I'd rather have the A6 for the wider gear selections.

Get the newest C6 you can afford.

Every year there are improvements.

The A4 is a better transmission if you are going to Drag the car (Stronger unit) The A6 is better on the street especially with a Cow Tranny tune.Owners on here say each shift is a kick.

I've been drag racing for over 40 years everything from a stock flat head 1950 Ford, to a 290ci Tube Chassis (Don Ness) D/Altered Camaro with a Liberty 5 speed... it ran 7.80 @ 172 mph (1/4 mile)

I'm retired now and only bracket race, but when I bought my C6 I was looking to 2 cars an 05 (A4) or an 06 (A6)

After driving both I preferred the A4 for the type of driving I planned to do (Drag Race) so I bought the 05 with 6000 miles on it..

Last yr. it won the Corvette Challenge at Englishtown, & went on to Division 1 finals... Yes the A6 is a GREAT TRANSMISSION, but speaking for myself, I prefer the A4 to use for racing! On the street the A6 my be nicer and give a little better gas mileage, but I only worry about 1/4 mile & CONSISTENCY!
