I park mine outside simply because I don't have a garage. It doesn't ruin them, however it is harder to keep them clean. I am going to be getting a car cover soon so hopefully that reduces the problem.

altho i love my corvette more than our 2008 mercedes GL450, my wife logic is well GL450 is newer and it cost us 60 grand. corvette was 28grand.
i use to use that logic all the time on her so now it came back to bite me.
car cover it is or make more space in garage which is almost impossible unless i throw away my stuff.

You trained her well.
My neighbor spends one weekend every few months cleaning out his garage to make enough room for one car. This last about a week before it reverts back into a ransacked flea-market. Garages tend to become a dumping ground for useless junk.
I couldn't stand to have my car sit outside to weather the elements while a bunch of junk I never used was sheltered. Therefore, I worked to organize my garage and create space by get things off of the floor. The key is to create floor space as much as possible. I installed, cabinets, shelves, hung things from the wall and ceiling in areas that made sense. And if I didn't use it in the past year, I sold it, gave it away or threw it away.
It still tends to be a staging area for crap but at least now I have it under control.

clean it out!
Clean out your garage! If you can't part with it, get a storage unit, but I'll bet if you're anything like me, most of that crap could go to a yardsale or into the trash can and you wouldn't even notice...except you're car would be in the garage.

Im not positive but isnt parking your Vette outside a "Corvette Sin"?
What I did was cleaned the attic up and put down a floor then put the stuff I dont often use up there (seasonal crap). Then for the stuff I do use mower, yard tools, kids bikes and toys, etc.. I built an 8x8 shed in the backyard.
All be it I originally had room for 2 cars in the garage I didnt want anyone getting something out of the garage and scratching the car.
Either way it boils down to what is more important, having a bunch of crap you dont use in your garage or protecting your "baby". IMO.

well we live in socal and out here weather is pretty much perfect all yr.
we hardly get rained(last yr rained twice) and no snow at all.
weather is usually in 70s except 3months which can be in 90-100.
so as long as i use car cover, why does it matter?
i mean what do i need to protect it from? other than sun? which car cover solves.
if i really want, i could make another space but then getting in and out with 2 cars in garage is gonna be real tight. i need to load/unload stroller on my GL450 too and with corvette in it, there is no room to move around.

I have parked every Corvette I have ever owned outside. Including my then new 07 Z06. Corvettes are just like every other car. Rain does not hurt them. Some people think of these things as some rare masterpiece. Buy it, drive the snot out of it and enjoy it.

I agree with umcanesz06. Park it inside if anyway possible, but i would not let that stop me from getting it! Get a good car cover and keep it waxed! Oh yea, and drive the snot out of it!

I invested in some racks that hang from the ceiling. They are capable of holding 600 lbs of junk. Here is the web site: www.saferacks.com
In Florida there is no basements so you have to be creative.
All three of my Corvettes are in the garage! I would not think of having a pile of junk in my garage while my Corvette stayed outside.
Clean your garage!!!! Put your Corvette inside!

My garage is 1 1/2 car so two won't fit. I wrestled with the decision to buy a C6 since it would have to live outside. My 71 Ls5 gets first dibs on the garage. I almost didn't buy the C6, but I'm so glad I did. The first thing I did was buy a quality cover. Since it is not a DD, I don't have the hassle of covering it every day. The cover keeps it clean and pretty dry. Given the amount of rain we had in June here in Pa, it really got put to the test.
Once winter rolls around, I'll be looking for some inside storage though.........

Parked mine outside last Spring/Summer/Fall had it covered all the time. Still was not thrilled with it sitting outside so this year it is garaged.

My garage is only big enough for one also, but my wife and I alternate weeks. If my car can sit outside for the 10 1/2 hours I'm at work everday, then it can sit outside while I'm home.
It's not like I'll lose any kind of warranty for leaving it outside for an undertermined amount of time...
...Or can I?

Mines outside (but under the carport). I cover it EVERY night. I have the stormproof car cover advertised on here all the time. It works great for keeping the car clean. But honestly, if we get a really good wind (not breeze), it will try to blow off.

Amen, and me too... five Corvettes, three Porsches, two BMWs, two Mercedes, and a host of other cars.... just no big deal.
