You're kidding, right? Sure, the car will get dirtier and get more exposure to the elements. Get a good car cover for that and keep 'er waxed. But the real issue here is vandalism and theft. Are you OK with running that risk? If you are, that's great. Not me! Had it happen to many cars over the years, and in pretty good neighborhoods. Lots of crazies out there.

your friends are correct
I would live in the country just to have something like this and not having to answer to the HOA, but my wife is not very keen on being outside the suburbs.
The countryside scares her and I always tell her that this is what guns are made for but....

I have a big 24' X 32' enclosed on 2 sides car port built in front of my garage. Carports are very reasonable to build and if you have the room can be very nice to wash and detail the car under.

I park mine outside. It's just a car and it's made to be outdoors. I don't obsess over anything on the car and I enjoy every moment I'm driving it.

my 08 has been outside since new.. Winter, summer whatever.. I hesitate to put a cover on since if you do that and it's dirty from your drive it'll get scratched... The 65 Coupe on the other hand is IN the garage...

so as long as i use car cover, why does it matter?
i mean what do i need to protect it from? other than sun? which car cover solves.

if i really want, i could make another space but then getting in and out with 2 cars in garage is gonna be real tight. i need to load/unload stroller on my GL450 too and with corvette in it, there is no room to move around.
Add a third garage stall...a man can't have too many garage stalls. I'm up to 5 good luck too you

seems like most ppl here who live in socal park it outside.
also we have limited land here in LA/OC county. there are no room to make another garage.

btw, mine is a 3 car garage. 1.5 of it is full of stuff. im sure i can make space for 2 car at least but i hate having to squeeze between cars.

getting a cover soon. any recommendations?

It will melt here with summer temps generally in the high 100's interior's run about 145. I had to make a choice between the Vette and my 07 Avalanche and the Vette gets the nod for the garage, the AV gets the Truck Sun cover

Mine has been outside since I brought her home brand new. I hate it. When my wife and her ex bought this house, the garage had been converted to a bedroom when it was built, so the floor was never made to support the weight of a car, it would cost more to attempt to fix the floor than to build a garge.
So we were going to build a garage, the City ordinances won't allow me to do so because the end of the garage would be closer than 18' from the easment.
So I bought (on day one) both of GM's Corvette covers investing about $300.00. The car is ALWAYS covered, and I mean always. The soft inner cover is lined with a felt like material, and it has never scratched it.

My wife is a pragmatist. She doesn't see any worth in a Corvette. But she sees the value of my happiness. She will not let me park it outside the garage. In the garage and the battery tender connected after every drive.

I would love for her to enjoy the Vette, but I'm glad she enjoys seeing me happy.

Dang, I'm a lucky guy.

hope I'm not repeating someone else's sentiments (only read page 1), but make the wife an offer .... either the vet gets the garage, or she does

I had to do it for a while, but it's no fun in the cold weather. The windows freeze to the doors and won't index--you can brute force the doors open to start the car and defrost it, but you can't close the doors. And it takes about 15-20 minutes to thaw the windows out.
When I was in SD, I had a 3-car garage so everything was garaged. Here in the UK, our first house had no garage. In November, we moved into a different house with a one-car garage. I finally got the garage organized last week, and can now park the Vette inside again. It makes leaving for work a lot easier!
It's snowing tonight--about 5" so far, with an expected total of around 12". That should bring things to a halt for a couple of days here!

Put the batteries in her garage door opener both the same way so it won't work, then claim the garage when you get home.

When I bought our condo the 1st rule was MY VETTE gets the garage.. well it worked for a few yrs.. then I got the C6 & she said she wanted the garage.. now we've been married since 1969 !

Well I said NO WAY! so she said "No Sex" until she gets the garage!!

I haven't gotten any action at home in 3 yrs the magic words are "At Home"
