Who saw the New Grand sport at Bloomington and what did you think?

I didn't care for the wheels at first, but they don't look bad in person... I wish they'd come with pained/ powder coated calipers...
I like it. Now if it were only available in LMB?

Love the general idea -- wide body, better suspension and tires -- still not crazy about the side gills and that huge chrome lump sitting on top of them. I will reserve ultimate judgment until I see one in person....hmmmm.

I liked the Torch Red,but don't care for the wheels or side gills and blob of chrome on the side. Some will like it and some won't!

I agree with C6NRED in that I'm skeptical about the design choice of that chrome badge above the side gills. Will try to reserve judgment since I too haven't seen one in person.

I like everything about the GS except or the side emblem, seems like an odd place to position the emblem. I don't know if there are holes behind the emblem but if I buy a GS my very first mod will be getting the emblem removed.

I saw it and talked to the GM rep at length about the car and the 'Vette's future. His opinion was that the Z06 will continue to be around for several more years; the ZR1 not so much so. He also told me the '10 models will have a hard-wired "battery tender" type option available as many customers store their cars for extended periods and this would be a better system than alligator clips like most applications use. Re the GS, I liked the gills better in person than I thought I would, but still not sold on the chrome badge. The gray top and comp gray wheels looked good with the torch red. I'm betting that color will be a big seller. In my opinion, the widebody on a vert is most obvious and best appreciated when the top is up-when down it seems to lose something and not seem as big a deal. Something about everything flowing down from the roof area and sans the top the wide is not emphasized as much. Just my observation. Thje cutback is evident, as there is usually a GM tent at BG with several 'Vettes and other vehicles along with marketing people. This year, a car and a guy-period.

The main components of the GS are nice...concerning:
-wheels- go with aftermarket if they really bother you
-badge above gills- quite sure some forum vendors will come out with body colored versions or (for dark colors) satin black
-more power- if 436 does not clean you clock then plenty of mods out there for you
Agree with Slick... now if they made it available in LMB
One thing that DOES concern me is GM is blending their product lines too much... Z06 had a distinctive look just like the ZR1 but now not the case. I also have a 1990 ZR-1 and it had design features that separated it from the other C4s (rear end in particular) and then GM really blew it in the 1991 MY... made all C4s including the ZR-1 look the same and this in fact was one reason the ZR-1 met its demise...and yes cost was the other.
