Melting Slicks
I like the wide body & I like the Sid wheels. THe gills might be ok if they did away with the ugly chrome piece on top, or could have made them functional along with the NPP!

Love the Grand Sport. Love the wheels although I will never own a car with chrome wheels. I really like the gills but don't love the emblem. Overall I think GM is pretty smart by coming out with this option 5 years into C6 production. I think they will sell a lot of these cars and they won't have to mark these down quite as much for a while which should help the dealers also. I just need them to bring back Lemans Blue and I will be content.

Here's an easy solution for guys that don't like the big chrome Grand Sport molding over the gills. Just have your body shop paint it body color. Then everything will blend in and the gills will look smoother.

With the Grand Sport being added to the wide body options, we will now have 3 slightly different "looks" available( Z06, ZR1, Grand Sport). Imho, the Z06 has the best look from the get go with the original wheels being the best. However, other enthusiasts love spyder wheels, ZR1 wheels, some like the see thru hood of the ZR1, others hate it, some love the gills of the Grand Sport, others can't stand em, & so on. That's what keeps us fired up & makes for an endlessly fun hobby.( I will be replacing my 08Z with a 2010 Grand Sport as I really miss having the see/thru removable roof, but love the handling & look of the Z06. As for extra power to rival or surpass the Z06, that's what LPE or other fine forum tuner is for.

The car looks great in person, they could have done the top of the gills differently, maybe not placed that badge there and given the gills a more symmetrical look.

FYI - If you purchase a 2010 Grand Sport with the dry sump LS3engine you will get a hand built engine from the folks at Wixom Performance Build Center! We also build the LS9 and LS7's for your high performance Corvettes. Each engine is built from start to finish by one builder, whose name tag goes on your engine (front RH side of Intake Manifold).
Those of us that assemble these engines hope that this will be an added incentive for you to purchase a Grand Sport Corvette! We're proud of our work and hope you will be too.

And its awesome that you get to build engines. =)
