Default What is "it" about the Corvette that pulled you in?

We know there are many reasons why Corvettes are regarded so highly in general. However, I don't think there has been a discussion (lately) for your specific reason(s) why. So, let's have it.

Mine:
My #1 criteria for a car-looks. The body style of the Corvette has always been nothing short of phenomenal, and the C6 in particular won me over.

To touch on the style and beauty. I feel a "Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde" essence when it comes to the raw power. not to mention what it's capable of with little effort.

I really can't touch too much on the history as I'm still a bit young in the grand scheme of things. However, what I've learned since I've been here has helped alot.

Every single time I get in the car and start it, I always say to myself, "Damn, this is America's car. I love it."

I was driving my 2004 Sebring LTD vert, top down cruising at 75mph on a California freeway. Great sunny day, I was at one with the road.

Out of nowhere came a little red dot behind me, getting bigger very fast. It hovered behind me for a few moments, then like a bat outa hell it flew past me and disappeared as fast as it came.

It was a Corvette. I had to have one. A couple weeks later I did.

Loved the looks.Growing up my older brother and sister had(& still have) Vettes. I watched the styles of them as a kid change through the years......and the Vette is one of the few cars that keeps getting better and better year after year.

when I was 23 . . .1974 . .an ad in Motor Trend magazine that read,

"If you've wanted a Corvette since you were a kid . .you've waited long enough."

10-4 . . .copy that!

It was the Corvette? What else did you need to know ?

Three words....SEX ON WHEELS!!!!

I stood DROOLING in front of a black Z-06 at the Corvette Museum in April 2006 for HOURS doing the financial gymnastics in my head...How in the HELL can I do this??...Seems there was no way I could ...My two 1999 C5s and SSR would have to suffice for a while......C6Zs were fetching about $10K over MSRP back then...I just couldnt swing it...I waited TWO long years until the financial "planets" aligned for me...Plus by then prices had dropped significantly...$15K BELOW MSRP...I made my move!!!...Sex on wheels!!!...That two year wait saved me about $25K

It fit in PERFECTLY with the rest of my black beauties!!!

It's so much more than a car, more like lifestyle, hobby, history, killer looks, horsepower,MPG, cheap maintenance compared to cars its caliber, resale value, fun factor, mod options, etc, etc, I SERIOUSLY can go on for a long time.

I've loved vettes since I was a kid in the 70's. For the final 9 years of my military career I was assigned in remote areas where I couldn't (or didn't) ship a vehicle. I used this time to save my pennies and realize my dream when I retired in 2006. Since then, the fellow corvette owners and enthusiasts I've met and befriended have made the anticipation worth it.

It looks sick, it is morbid fast at 600+HP , and the wife never drives it because she is scared to

What more do you want out of a car

My dad owned a 58' Vette. When I saw it, I was hooked. Right then and there I was like I will own a Vette someday. Thats was when I was 10 yo. I never forget that promise I made to myself.

The car is awesome.

The only 500-hp (I should say the best power/weight ratio) car with handling to match I can afford.

It's a gorgeous sports car. It's one of the most beautiful automotive designs ever.

It's an American automotive icon.

It has an awesome drivetrain with great performance. And handles fantastically.

It's very affordable used. (how I bought mine)

I'm from a General Motors family.

It makes me happy every time I slide into the drivers seat.
