Default What are you paying for XM radio??

I just got a bill charged to my credit card without any notice. Not that I was going to cancel XM but there is was not a explanation as to what I was being charged for. That upset me to start. So I call and was told that I was charged $38.85 for the Tahoe and $26.97 for the Vette for 3 months. On top of that, XM stopped giving me the on-line channel that I listened to while was working on the computer. Now that costs $2.99 per month. Am I paying too much??

$77 a year for the C6, $88 a year for my wife's Pontiac Vibe.

We pay by check. Heard too many horror stories about the use of credit cards with them.

Does anyone know if they will honor a 2 radio discount if your other radio is Sirius? They weren't a merged company last year and I had to pay full price on both. Prior to getting the Vette, we had 2 Sirius radios and qualified for the 1/2 price on the 2nd radio discount. Will have to call them tomorrow and see what kind of answer I get since XM comes up for renewal next month.

I pay zero. A totally worthless system, always fades in and cuts out, not even worth it at $.01 a year

fixing to kill it after the term expires soon. Not worth it me for a weekend car . I will listen to my Ipod instead, much better sound.

AND yes to answer your question, you are paying too much.
Both XM and Sirius suck at customer service, of course I am preaching to the choir here.

I attempted to get a discount on my XM account based on the fact that I also have a Sirius subscription, but I had no luck. XM and Sirius seem to have nothing in common right now except ownership/stock and some shared channels. From a subscription standpoint, each is a stand-alone company.

I'm surprised that you get such poor reception. Makes me think there is something up with your car's equipment since I have never had a reception issue with either system in 3 different vehicles. That's been one of the great features is that it is available virtually anywhere and produces very good sound quality. It's worth it to me, and I don't miss terrestrial radio at all.

I JUST paid $77 for the next year. After three calls to India I finally got that deal with a supervisor. While I was speaking I canceled my service at the end of this next year, I got her first and last name and heard her typing my request as we spoke. Next year, after my term expires, they will be calling me offering me "The Deal", I won't need to call and hassel for it.

Zero. I'm in agreement with the other poster. It is worthless.

Nothing, why pay those rediculus XM prices when there are all the free FM and AM stations out there. Drop it down to a buck a month and I might consider. It's just another modern day ripoff.

I was ready to quit last month, but succumbed to their $77 offer for another year. That's the 3rd time. I could skip it altogether, but the XYL likes it. My preference is my semi-compressed MP3 CD's..... about 30 hours worth in the 6 disk changer.

I like XM radio's choices. I live in Los Angeles and I don't speak spanish and don't like rap music or hip hop or other stufff. I like the choices on XM. I'm thinking about a XM radio for my DD.....if you really want to know, I like the banjo music on the bluegrass channel. For a stringed instrument, it's sort of like Bach pipe organ music to me.

One my current subscription ends I'm dumping them also. I'll just buy a IPOD or whatever. It is a lot better sound. Remember XM is compressed signals.

I tried to re-subscribe for the $77 deal 2 weeks ago and they wouldn't honor it. So I canceled it.
