Lost #1 Key FOB. Can program new one "by hand"?
I have bought my 2008 C6 by second hand, and it comes with only one #2 FOB. I have bought a new #1 FOB, and I need to know if I can program it without having a tech2 device, or without going to workshop.
And if it is possibe, how do I do this?
Many thanks.

Matching Transmitter(s) to Your
Vehicle
Each keyless access transmitter is coded to allow
only transmitters programmed to your vehicle,
to work. If a transmitter is lost or stolen, a
replacement can be purchased and programmed
through your dealer. Your dealer can reprogram
your vehicle so lost or stolen transmitters no longer
work with your vehicle. Each vehicle can have a
maximum of four transmitters matched to it.
To match a new transmitter to your vehicle when
you have a recognized transmitter (two recognized
transmitters are required for Canadian owners), do
the following:
1. The vehicle must be off.
2. Have the recognized and new, unrecognized
transmitters on your person.
3. Go to the rear of the vehicle and insert the
vehicle key into the key cylinder located
above the license plate. See Hatch/Trunk on
page 83 for more information on the key
cylinder.
4. Open the trunk.
5. Turn the key five times within five seconds.
6. The DIC will display READY FOR FOB #X,
where X can be 2, 3 or 4.
7. Place the new, unrecognized transmitter in
the glove box transmitter pocket with the
buttons facing towards the passenger’s side.
8. Once the transmitter is programmed, a beep
will sound. The DIC will display READY
FOR #X, where X can be 3 or 4, or
MAX # FOBS LEARNED.
9. Press

Note that the number inscribed on the back of the new fob has nothing to do with what fob no. the new fob will be programmed as.
The fob programming procedure that ben dover has posted will program the new fob as fob #3. As such, it will not have access to the memory options in the DIC. Radio presets, seat position, mirror position, car autolocking, etc. are part of the memory option.
If you want the new fob to be programmed as either fob #1 or fob #2, you will have to use the long procedure in the owner's manual and posted here previously to reprogram both fobs.

From what I have been reading so far there's a chance it may not work on a European version. I have tried the short version to add another FOB more than 10 times, and I cant get the DIC message to appear.
