Default Update on formuladan - Myrtle Beach

Hi Everyone,

I guess I lied. The other post wasn't my last post after all.

Well, it seems you want me to stick around so I guess I might as well. Won't have much to contribute but I'll still hang out and add my stupid replies every once in a while. I read every post from the other thread. Thank you everyone. It means a lot to me.

I'm doing fine. The lot is cleared off and the cars will be removed by tomorrow. Getting to the point where I'm excited about getting to build a new home. Was up at the Chevy dealer yesterday getting ordering info on a 2010 Camaro 2SS. Should be a sweet ride. Here are a few final pics of the old rides and how the lot looks now.

My neighbors are doing well too. As well as can be expected. I made the arrangements for all of their debris removal.

Thanks again for all of your kind words and support. We'll get it rebuilt and it will be better than it was before.

Take care everyone. Talk again soon.

Dan

Good luck with the recovery. "Things" no matter how cherished can almost always be replaced, and they do not love you back, only people can do that.

Cheers, and here's to wishing brighter days for you ahead.

I look at you vette and think back to Fast Times at Ridgmont High. Spicoli: My old man is a television repairman, he's got this ultimate set of tools. I can fix it.

Its wonderful to know you are working thru this one step at a time and enjoying life at the same time. Bless you.

Those pics are somehow even more heartbreaking. 2 hulks of once gorgeous, special cars sitting in the middle of emptiness. Glad you decided to continue to be a part of the Forum family here. All the best luck. I'm confident your life will rise from the ashes better than ever.

Glad you're around! I think we all look forward to the new Camaro you'll be getting.

And, when you do rebuild, I hope it's with a planned design that will take into account that forest fires are always possible.

Good luck with it.

As painful as this process must be for you it sounds like you are making progress, have a positive attitude and slowly working your life back to normal. Good luck with the new house, and your new Camaro.

I took a ride by your "property" yesterday and was still shocked by HOW several houses were untoched by the fire, yet some were burned to the ground. It looks like a war zone! keep your head up, soon you will have a new home, better than the old!!!

you must consider this a new, fresh start. think about how many people try for a fresh start and just can't bring themselves to do it. the circumstances that brought you to this point are tragic to say the least BUT, you've got your health and now the ability to start over again. embrace the opportunity you now have to create an even better life.

stay with us. you don't need a corvette to contribute here.

best of luck to a new start!

You're an amazing person and your neighbors are lucky to have you around. Take care of yourself and your family (which it seems you are doing quite well considering).

Good luck in your future and make sure you post some follow-ups once this is behind you.

PS You are always part of the Corvette family regardless of ownership.

Default Real Gald to see you back...

You are at least over the hump, and there is progress, which helps. How long did they tell you it would be, to get the Camaro?

Also...here in CA they now have systems, that have storage tanks at your house, and in the event of a wilde fire, it pumps fire retardant all over your house... seems very effective... you might look into it. They also have more non-combustable materials to build with, and vents that close to keep ambers out... since you are starting from scratch, I am sure it would be easy to make changes.

Dan -

I didn't know you were impacted by the fire - I'm so sorry!

We met at the MB show last June - you bought my glass top for your silver C6.

Is there anything we can do to help?

Glad you staying around, don't know if I would of been as upbeat as you are had this happened here. Let the building begin.
