Default 2010 Grand Sport Predictions

So I'm counting down the days until we get to see the 2010 models (one more week!!). I can't wait, so for the meantime lets discuss some of the Grand Sport possibilities.......here's my educated guesses.

Wide Body
larger, black wheels
diff cooler
stock ls3 + z06 butterfly exhaust
brake upgrades (z06 6 piston fronts)???
exterior color options besides blue/white
GS themed seat stitching

Well,The last one had 30 extra HP in it.
Wider tires out back and stripes, red or black gut. Those things would be enough to keep me happy!!

I hate to say this but I think the GS is just going to be an appearance package for the Z06

Sorry but you'll have to wait. Some decent guesses though.

I'll add Grandsport Badging.

Introduction of a New engine. (may be C7 but I'm thinking they pull a huge surprise on everyone)

5.5L V8 - 475HP

I'm going to go out on a limb and say Z06 gets a power boost. 525HP.

GM could squeeze an additional 20HP out of the LS7 without radical changes.

All good guess's. As usual, we're all on the edge of our seats waiting to find out what's new for 2010. Naturally some of us are already figuring out how to buy a new one, even though we don't know what the changes will be. Total vette nutcases, that's us.

I predict a 10 HP increase from a new intake, NPP, Z51(if it is a Coupe/vert), HUD, GS red stripes. Optional 4 Michelin PS2' run flats vs 4 Michelin PS2's. Interior GS badges, console, seats. We need to let Roushe and
Saleen get a jump start, so please someone call them. Maybe we can get Carroll Shelby in on this Corvette sticker and paint thing

Well, I'm not sure if this is what I think it will be, or what I want it to be - but here is my fearless guess..

Widebody - but without rear scoops (to differentiate from Z06) and no carbon fiber to keep cost down.

Wheel/tire brakes from Z06.

Z51 with F55 shocks.

Specific color, and fender stripes.

No new power.

That would be really cool if the wide body and the other goodies become a reality, but at what price? Remember the up charge package price on the Ron Fellows Edition? I Doubt that anything will actually happen but it is fun to speculate.

Wide Body
larger, black wheels
diff cooler
stock ls3 + z06 butterfly exhaust
brake upgrades (z06 6 piston fronts)???
exterior color options besides blue/white
GS themed seat stitching
Wide Body: Very possible, or a narrow body with Z06 style rear brake ducts on it.

The car is going to be available in a convertible. The current rear Z06/ZR1 panels require "adaptation" for home made convertible Z06/ZR1 lookalikes.

larger, black wheels: Maybe, if there is a wide body. No if there is no wide body.

diff cooler: Yep

stock ls3 + z06 butterfly exhaust: Yep

brake upgrades (z06 6 piston fronts)???: Depends on the wide body. Z06 brakes will require a larger wheel, which means a wide body.

exterior color options besides blue/white: Definitely not.

GS themed seat stitching: And badging.

Additions to the above:

Steel frame because of the convertible availability.

Red Interior availability.

More power if there is a wide body. Otherwise with the same current power, there is no way the car will offer any improvement in performance over what is already out there. Many don't realize it, but the so called "wide body conversion" actually hurts performance. The larger heavier wheels, brakes and tires increase unsprung weight, and the "wide body" increases drag coefficient.

I predict stripe decals down the center and some stripes on the front fender, badges, seat embroidered logo, an engine plaque, a large windshield sticker, and yellow wheels!

We will see the '08 and '09 inventories go down one for every order of a 2010 Grand Sport Special Edition!

Sweet!

I am seeing a new color offered such as LeMans Blue with White stripes down the middle and of course red hash marks on the fender. Maybe rear fender extenders like on the '96 which would allow wider tires without all the problems of a full widebody rear.

This would also keep cost down and put more profit in GM's pocket at whatever upcharge there is for the GS edition. I don't see any special engine at this time like in '96, but maybe a 10-15hp increase through intake/exhaust configurations or maybe a head/cam change.

Of course the usual GS badges and special upholstery ID items on the interior.

They have definitley got my attention.

I just hope it's not a badge and logo pkg. with no real performance over a std C6.

Im thinking that it will be a rear widebody only. Thats fine with me.
