Hendrick Chevrolet in Cary,NC yes that Hendrick from NASCAR fame has just received vin# 0001 and 0002 from Chevy. The two cars belong to the owner and are not for sale. The pics I took show a silver SSII model rated 423hp, with optional taped racing stripes, 20" polished rims std. MSRP 37500. They said they are holding 50 deposits for these cars that should be arriving in 10-14 days. The sales guy said there is a header option, ground effects option and short shifter option. NO GPS option.

I'm assuming that's the XM antenna mounted on the top. I wonder why they didn't keep it concealed like they did with the Corvette?

Interesting. I have a friend who works at the Anchorage airport and in Feb he personally witnessed three Camaro's on a Korean airlines freight plane headed for somewhere across the pond. One was an SS.
Could these be some type of demo's without VIN's?

Sweet... this "header option"... is it a GMPP optional part, or will the dealer install headers that are aftermarket? Some of the Hendrick dealerships will install performance parts in their service department.

But... I doubt anyone's had time to make aftermarket headersf or it yet.

The optional headers arrive AFTER you take delivery of the car from the dealer. The dealer then installs the NEW optional headers when they get them from GM. I guess you get the orriginals or there is some kind of credit. Not sure. I understand right now the optional headers are "back orderred" and customers who orderred the header option have NO IDEA when their headers will arive at the dealer. Sounds like a potential nightmare brewing.
Your right Hendrick has done alot of mods for me. As long as they do the work and supply parts I am coverred under my GMPP extended warranty. They are a little pricey but vette stays under warranty NO QUESTION. I sleep at night.
