Well I'm going to say it one more time, the ability of the heads mounted behind the grill is definitely diminished. Just because a shop has installed electronics in high end cars it does not mean a damn thing if they did every one with mistakes.

When I say the guys over at radardetector.net know their stuff, I mean it. They have police gear and test many different configurations.

Here's just one thread I happened to see today on this exact topic.
http://www.radardetector.net/forums/...l-install.html

Do what you want, but if it were me I would go right back there and ask the installed to move it to outside the grill. It could mean the difference between getting a ticket and not.

You should also take a small level and ensure that the heads are level every month or so. Just 5 degrees off could cause them not to work. When the heads are behind the grill it makes this much more difficult. LED's are pretty directional, especially when you think about 5 degrees over 1000 feet away which is what many police shoot LIDAR at.

Looks good, but you need to let that girl breathe a little bit.

It would freak me out having all the stuff in your garage that close to my baby!!
