Thanks again John and I am going to Wally shortly to look for the Prestone, but I'll also look to see who carries the Motul RBF 600. And I'm glad at least one of us kept the Z.

2,200 miles on my '08 and the fluid looked like Navy coffee. No track time or hard running, too many state patrol cars on the road for that. Flushed it out this weekend and will be doing it every 1,000 from now on.

I left mine 1/4 in below the max line. I would say half way between the 2 lines or a little more would be just right.

Mine's got 25k miles on it. Once I learned about this method, I've been changing it once a week or so. It still looks like some coffee on a drilling rig at times. Mine's not a daily driver, so it's not like I pile on the miles. I guess what I'm saying is, check it sooner than later.

I just hit a touch over 15k miles on my 08...Havent even opened the clutch fluid reservoir... I'm scared to see what it looks like. Looks like Ill get that done at the next oil change...

My theory on the min / max range for the clutch fluid resivoir is that it's similar to the break fluid resivoir in that at full capacity with new brake pads or clutch disk in this case, the minimum volume would be reached as the pads or disk wear down to it's minimum service thickness if it were possible for the fluid to remain for the entire lifespan of the disk or pads. Obviously I'm speaking theoretically here in the case of the clutch. Might be possible with the brakes though.
When I'm changing the clutch fluid I have always refilled the resivoir back up to the full level based on the fact that the clutch disk wear will cause the level to drop from this point in time and the only thing that will cause it to increase is replacing the clutch disk which will warrant a full blead and refill anyway.

I don't think we need to be too obsessive about the level...I just said a 1/4" below Max because there is a little more fluid and hopefully it will stay cleaner longer. I'm sure as long as we "keep it between the lines" we're good!

Thanks guys for the info. My 08 Vette is a fair weather weekend warrior. I only put 3800 miles on it the first year. I only change the oil once a year and I will also do the clutch fluid at the same time.
