In a word, yes.

yes the zinc wears off the rotor where the pads rest, but the rest of the rotor stays nice a clean looking!

What is the point...appearance only? Does it affect/clog the pads at all?

Zinc doesn't rust, so the rotors will look better, longer.

What's the purpose of this other than making them look new again?
If you drive regularly they look pretty good anyway.
Any pros / cons to doing this?
Like no rust, better stopping / cooler rotor , anything?

The swept part of the rotor is not the issue. It is the "hat" part that sometimes gets rusty or discolored.
If no$4vette, or anyone, can show a close up photo of the area then it will be more clear what we are talking about.

Other than looking good and preventing rust, there is no utility to zinc plating the rotors.

The zinc is not applied to the breaking surface of the rotor. As stated it's only the hat or the center of the rotor that benfits from the process. The treatment does not enhance breaking capabilities, it's a cosmetic item only.

This is incorrect. The whole rotor is plated and with repeated brake application the zinc wears from the swept area. Someone asked is this just for looks. Sure it's for looks but not only are the hats plated but the rotor vanes are also plated reducing the rust that drips from the vanes onto the wheels while stationary.

The whole set up looks great, but I think you need to complete it with some s/s brake pad covers.
That should really make the calipers pop. JMO

Do they still look good? What about corrosion?

Does the zinc on the braking surface affect braking power? How does it affect the pad compound and do you need to replace the pads after the zinc wears off the braking surface? I understand the cosmetic part and I like the idea but I've very curious about the affects on performance.

Not only your rotor looks good, your wheel does too!
Is that an HRE wheel?
