Default Anyone else starting to feel like a pinata?

I'm starting to feel like a pinata. I drive around worried I am going to get the "you have a corvette, therefore you must be speeding" ticket...

This is a must read article..

Jack Walker of Flint was given two speeding tickets within a few weeks of each other last year while driving in Orion Township. He says police are more aggressive than ever about stopping motorists.
Obviously, he didn't learn anything from the 1st ticket.

Obey the law and you have nothing to worry about.

.....says he got a ticket last year near his home...on a section of road where the speed limit drops suddenly from 45 to 35 mph
how else would a speed limit drop? "ok, 44mph for the next 500 yards, followed by 39mph for another 500yds, giving you ample time to eventually slow down to 35mph. Thank you have a nice drive".

Just don't look at it. Apparently it meets the guidelines of this forum, or the mods would have it removed.

BTW....you have violated the rules of the forum by trying to hijack the OP's thread by not staying on topic. If you feel the need, start your own thread on this subject in the Politics section

I agree and disagree...... I agree that dont speed and you should have nothing to worry about. I disagree in a sense that I have two vehicles that I drive--Vehicle #1- I constantly get tailed-thats predatory. Vehicle #2- Not the least bit of interest.

The corvette is like fishbait.

You get a ticket in a Corvette....good luck convincing a judge you werent speeding.

Let me see, Daddy got one, son 1 got one in same place, then son 2 got one in same place..DUH.. maybe if people went back to having dinner together they could have communicated about the speed trap..... and that the speed limit changes.....
But yeah I see Police enforcing more than ever in South FL too..

States have used traffic citations as revenue enhancers for many years. Nothing new except officer's understand they don't give many warnings anymore! I'm a state LEO and that's how it works.

If you want to focus on the real problem look at the crooks and morons running the local, state and federal governments. Those idiots sit around dreaming up more ways to reach into your pockets. Do you really want BARNEY FRANK running anything but a condom dispenser? How about Chris Dodd who claims he never knew he was getting a sweetheart deal from Country Wide? The same Chris Dodd that was the #1 recipient from AIG donations? He's now outraged at AIG bonuses? What a joke!

These idiots have the gall to claim they know how to FIX the economy after destroying it!

Back on point! The police do what their superiors want them to do. The top superiors in law enforcement do what the politicians tell them. Almost all top law enforcement positions are via appointment and guess who appoints them? You get the government you deserve and we're getting it now.. top to bottom!!

My advice is to be extremely careful about speeding! Chances are you're going to get a citation sooner or later if you speed.....

The cops in my city are very classy. Where I grew up, the cops seemed to be on a HUGE power trip. The cops here arent like that at all. But I agree with JimTN, if you arent speeding you dont have anything to worry about. I actually drive slower in my vette. I enjoy driving it and Im not in a hurry to get where ever Im going.

If anyone would be upset it would be YOU. I have a house in Phoenix and a house in Alabama and I work out of Scottsdale. This article REALLY is similiar to the photo radar on Loop 101 that is more about revenue than it is about traffic safety. They found a way to employ less cops and create more tickets.

I was just out there a week ago... and with all the construction between Cave Creek and Scottsdale RD I never knew if the speed limit was 45, 55, or 65...

I can see the rest of the country adopting photo radar rrreeeeeaaaalllleee fast.

Within 3 years it is supposed to provide 7 million a year in revenue.

Don't speed, and the problem is solved. Problem is, I sometimes find myself exceeding the speed limit. Oh well, once in a while I get to pay a ticket. Big deal.

Politics is lame in a car forum that has a politics-specific forum. Please take the rants over there.

stop being a little girl, freedom of speech

on topic though: I actually have had the least amount of tickets in my vettes (which is none) than any other car I have owned and I have driven the same way. Most of the time, I just think the cops think it's an older mature person driving or they are a fan of vettes and just let it have some fun. I know for a fact a few cops have seen me "have fun" in my vettes though

I believe it is inevitable that while driving a Vette you will get a speeding ticket. The only real question is how long will it take.
