Default I'm I CRAZZZZY!!!!

I have been really itching on buying a new Z06. There are some great deals on the Z06's right now. My problem is that I know I will miss my 08 vert. I already have an 04 Z16, but I just want to have a real beast. Am I crazy or should I just sit tight and be happy with my vert? I know.....I will be opening up a can of worms, but lets hear your thoughts.

It depends a lot on your financial situation. You'll take a bath on the '08 whether you sell privately or trade.

I swapped over to the Z a year ago and no regrets.

This is the $64k dollar question.......it all depends on the degree you will miss being able to put the top down. I don't miss the top down experience one iota....but everyone's different.

I have never considered a Vette in any economy unless I could pay cash, so money should not be an issue. That said, I doubt you would miss the Vert once seated in the Z. Few that have made the change have given the Vert a second thought. Z is not for everyones taste, but if it is under your skin, it's not likely you will be content until you do it.

What do you like more, what means more to you, top down motoring or more power?

I would certainly like a Z but I can't imagine, at this time, giving up my vert. Good luck.

This is certainly true, but it is also a great opportunity to find a great deal on a Z06, so hopefully the loss will not be as severe. Personally, I do not regret moving from a C6 coupe to a Z06 one bit (except thinking now and then that I should have waited for the ZR1). There are many owners who place the emphasis on a removable top and that becomes their priority over performance, so it really is a personal choice. My choice is obvious.

Keep the Convertible and trade the Z16 in for a new Z06

Stick some heads and a cam or better a twin turbo on your vert and there you go.

I would consider the option of modding your Vert and having the best of both worlds, top down driving with more power than most.

Have your cake and eat it too...this may be a solution for you: Have your C6 converted to a SC580. 580HP, 510 lbs rwtq. Faster than a Z06 and you keep your top down motoring. If you handle this thru your Callaway dealer (Michigan City, Ind.) you may be able to retain your factory warranty. Might be worth looking into. Go to: www.callawaycars.com

Nuff said. Spoken like a man who knows what he wants. Get the Z06 as there has never been a better time to purchase one.

Could not agree more. Don't miss convertibles not even a little bit.

My bad, I typed this quickly but that is no excuse. I hope my English teacher doesn't see this, but I promise I am a well educated man.

Just a little jab (which came back at me I see).

I guess you have to ask yourself how much you drive topless and can you live without it. I'd love a Z but I also really like having the top out on my coupe, so I'd probably opt for a HP upgrade (SC, Blower, heads/cam/headers, etc.). If you're wanting the track performance and HP, get the Z06.
Or, BOTH.
