Yes, but I'd need a VIN to order them. Its supposed to be a GM P/N I believe. I havent heard that the car has been released yet but I think it is sometime this year.

Thanks for putting the time and effort into this. Great post and very entertaining. BTW: Where'd the term "Jake" come from?

I'll add two more bits of trivia...

The name Jake came from former Corvette Marketing Manager and Corvette Racing Manager Gary Claudio. Upon seeing the skull for the first time, he remarked that it looked like a kid he went to school with whose name was Jake. It stuck!

When the engineering team first started taking ZR1 on the road around Detroit, a few were seen parked at an ice cream shop. A quick inspecition of the car showed a new version of the skull with a few changes. This one was Blue instead of Yellow and it had horns on it's head...an obvious tribute to the code name "Blue Devil".

When asked what they did to Jake, one of the drivers responded that it wasn't Jake on the car, but his brother Elwood. I guess the Corvette Team is a fan of the movie, "The Blues Brothers"!

Great info!

I knew a lot of it, but I shared it with some friends that have seen me wearing T-shirts with Jake on them.

I won't mention the large glass that has Jake on it that holds a very decent amount of beer...or was that water...yeah...it was water!

Default Cool !

Hey Love it man.. Cool handle too ..

Why isn't there a book on Corvette Racing(Updated to include the C6.R! the Jake Cars,The Arctic White Cars#3 and #33)

I know about Corvette Racing Legends The Story of the L-88 Option , by Dr.Pete Gimenez(Vettura Publishing, corvetteracinglegends.com )

I have it and its autographed, awesome book!

I also Corvette racing 50yearsThunder(Needs to be updated) by Guldstrand and Friedman,

And Corvette Racers,Gregory Von Dare,1992,mbi,

Corvette thunder,Racing(2002,different book,different author,starkey)

So any takers out there? we need a Corvette RACING BOOK updated with all the up to date cool Vette Racers- BBV CARS,ARCTIC WHITE,etc.

Sorry about the diversion/rant .. I just thought since you mention it..

Not a bad idea... Im not sure but the economy has put the shaft to all of us. I submitted a story to Corvette Quarterly and they said they are temporarily discontinuing the magazine due to the economic cut back by GM. They said they may be up and running towards the endof the year but for now, they have been cut
