BAER EradiSpeed vs Stock vs Z51 Rotor Weight

Doesn't it also follow that:
Less 'mass' = less ability to hold heat, those BAERs will cool very quickly?
Aren't the big-boy-road-racers moving heaven and earth to achieve lighter brakes?
I dunno, just askin'. I know just about as much about this as John Blutarski knew about geography!

Remember most racers are swapping out rotors after every race. There are alot of threads regarding warped two piece rotors.
More mass-less chance of heat induced warpage.

I installed the same thing and they work and look great. As for heat don't forget that the Baer rotor are directional and should help with heat rejection, Stock rotors are not.

Cyro (?)
Maybe this has already been discussed to death (I'll admit that I failed to search before posting this!), but has anybody figured out if "cyro" treatment of rotors is a good idea? Bad idea? Ho-hum idea?
Have a good evening, all!

I'm no kinetics engineer but I'd imagine there's some sort of trade-off with the larger rear rotors but I'd also think rear brakes larger than stock would have minimal effect unless you also went with larger front rotors.
Shane - can you post pics of the BAER rear set-up? I'm also curious on how that affects the look.

Totally Baffled???
I called Bill from Baer he said the Baer eradi speeds weigh 1 pound less than than the Z51s????? So I dont know what is going on.
I also called Edgar from auto anything he said the same??
Its pretty sad in my eyes they sell a product they dont even know the weight of???????????? Most guys that updrade brakes are looking to reduce weight and increase stoping power??????????????

There is lots of msinformation in this thread. First-off these 1-piece Bears shown in here are no better than stock... in fact, if used on track they will crack more quickly because of the actual drilled holes.
Larger brakes can hold more heat before fading. Transmitting heat into the pad and fluid is the enemy. Larger brakes offer larger heat sinks. You can achieve the same stopping distances with the base brakes with a good pad as you can with the ZR1 brakes... the ZR1 brakes can do it longer, much longer.
Simply changing brake rotors won't make the car stop any better... most do it simply for looks. Moving to a real 2-piece rotor with an aluminum hat will save wiegh and reduce rotating mass.

Melting Slicks
I know this is an old post but in my quest for a 10 second time slip I decided to install some base brakes, perhaps temporarly, in interest of weight reduction for that bolt-on only 10 second time slip. I went with Eco base brakes. All four cost $142 delivered. Front and rear are drilled and slotted and zinc plated. Front two weigh 36#, rear 28.5 for a total of 64.5#. Have seen no combination any lighter for less than $500.
By the way, Corvette08dreamin, your rotor is installed turning the wrong way. Rotors are suppose to pull air from the inside and flow towards the OD. Yours will do the opposite.

Burning Brakes
I had a set of Eradispeed plus on the front brakes and the plus twos on the rears of my 03 Z06. I used hawk pads with these and they really gave that car some stopping power. I used them for two years and then put them on my buddy's C5. He used them for another 2 years with no problems!
