best mod EVER, HUD install
First let me say thanks to members "pcmusicguy" and "GMautotech". they were very helpfull in finding a wiring diagram and a few parts as well. thxs again fella's.
After reading all the thots on HUD and starting regretting not going the 3lt way (only did 2lt) at the time i didnt see the dollar amount justifiying the new level. But the HUD part was really killin me. So after a few searches and some parts finding i got everything in yesterday and installed it late last night. I think the thing most guys worry about is removing the wheel (airbags) and the dash removal. I have a easy trick to doing the wheel and was able to get the HUD in without removing or even lossening up the dash (PM me if you want some more info) Hardest part is figuring out the wiring but a little patience is all you need. I have to say after its all said and done its well worth the effort. total cost was around $350 (ebay projector 160, switch and connectors and bezel 160, a few misc wires 20 bucks) and of course i did it all myself and saved the labor. Great mod, love the "G" meter. and not having the HUD front glass is really not an issue, the image is fantastic even is direct sunlight.Be safe, paul
The pictures really dont do it justice, think the camera may have issues auto focusing, its really good in person.

Have had so many guys PM about how to get it in i thot i most post it. any flamers stay away, (if you dont like just dont post) after all not having to remove the dash and console and scratch the crap out of suf and break stuff is good to. there are 2 ducts keeping you from taking the HUD out, the bottom one comes out with one clip the top one only comes out if you remove the dash. I took the top duct and cut it at 2 point to be able to get it out, its the only thing from keeping you from getting the HUD in. I took a wellers solder gun and put a plastic cutting tip on it. it sliced thru it like butter with no mess. I then used HVAC high quality wrapping tape to seal it back up. This duct only supplies air to the vent to the left of the wheel and is put back to full function, only a cosmetic difference, which obviously you cant see once its all together. Flame away all you haters, i got the job done with less work, less "NO" damage to things like the dash, console,, stereo, seat scratches, steering wheel, etc..if you dont like i dont care. You can actually see the tape if you look close. no big deal really easy peasy. Took about an hour to install, dont like how i did it????? do it another way.
first HUD pic is inside second is outside, doesnt look as good as it is

What would you say your skill level is and how long did it take you to do it? The other thread said you don't have to take the steering wheel off but do need to loosen the dash. You look like you did not loosen the dash. Did you remove the wheel just to make it easier on yourself? It also looks like you didn't remove the radio bezel?

its the camera that gives the blurred impression. it looks great in person!! I checked it next to a freind of mine tonight who has factory HUD. Its identical in the dark but maybe his is a touch better in the daylight. Would be very hard to drive either car and know which one is which.
