NAV v5 - Proceeding with IAG complaint
After giving GM/BUDCO.COM ample time to provide my NAV v5 update, and their failure to respond to telephone and internet inquiries seeking status, I have decided to file a formal complaint with the Illinois Attorney General Consumer Fraud Bureau. In support of this claim, I ask that the following CF members -- plus any others who wish to join in this action -- to provide detailed information in support of their claims:

The information I need is personal and should not be posted to CF. It will be shared only with the IAG Consumer Fraud Bureau. It will be attached to and submitted with the following form: http://www.illinoisattorneygeneral.g...s/conscomp.pdf

Are you saying that the poster has no right to exercise his beliefs? Are you saying the Courts don't deal everyday with important issues? And lastly, I know plenty of miserable lawyers so what are you talking about?

Why don't you just call Rod, he's going to have some "time" on his hands.

A friend of mine ordered his 07 update 6 months ago. He called again last week and once again he was told that it is still on back order due to a quality control problem. If I were buying a Corvette today, I would not order it with the Nav (because of quality control).

My 05 CTS V had NAV and it was a real pain to update. GM's new disk left you stranded in Michigan, even if you were not in Michigan. Good luck with the lawsuit. GM's actions at times can make you want to buy something else or go without the option.

I got my Nav update two weeks ago. That was two years and four months after I bought the car. According to GM's promises. I am entitled to one more free update. Good luck will be required for that.
GM may have not "failed to deliver". But, they have scorched my confidence in them for ANY future "promises" at the point of sale.
However, I have a bigger beef with them and OnStar phone minutes.
My '06 Convertible is a pleasure car for me. I currently have 10,100 miles on it. As of today, I haven't had it out of the garage since last Nov. So, features like XM, OnStar and in-car cell phone are expensive luxuries I don't find much value in.
But, in case you haven't found out. The in-car cell phone service is tied to your OnStar account. In other words. If you discontinue your OnStar, your cell phone is also terminated.
Now, that is kind of peculiar in that you buy your cell phone minutes, 100 minutes at a time prepay only, seperately from your OnStar account..
So, the 100 cellular minutes that I purchased about two months before my OnStar expired, also expired. No more cell phone without an OnStar account.
That folks is a classic case of fraud!
So, feel free to contact me for proof and a deposition when you want to go after that little ditty...

I feel for the original poster.
I bought a 2008 with nav, and didn't get any "Free" updates. I hopped on their site and come to find that their updated 5.0 version is 200 dollars. 200 dollars for one DVD? I can understand something like an operating system costing that much. But the fact that I can go out and spend much less than that and get a fully working dash mounted unit with free updates on the web is bogus.
Back to the topic of production of the disc.. if they are sending out 5.0 right now and are backorderd for MONTHS why not pay some dude to sit and burn DVD's all day long. With a few hundred dollars in hardware i could crank out a few hundreds copies of the disc each day. Easily covering the demand for the 5.0 disc.
By dragging their feet on this issue they are showing how little they care, if they have the ***** to charge people 200 dollars I'd expect it delivered overnight wrapped in a pretty bow, not "we will get to you in 6 months".
The 5.0 nav discs are out there on a few bit torrent sites if you want to download them, save 200 dollars, and 6 months of waiting for something that's largely unchanged.

It would still help to show the length of time it took for the Disc Center to respond to your order if you don't mind sharing your personal info with Eritosthenes to document the complaint.

PM sent.
Yes, it is a stupid DVD. $400 worth of stupid DVDs to be exact. So if I told you I would give you $400 worth of products if you bought my car and, after you did, I then said I would get around to delivering sometime but not right now and not any time in the near future, and you found out that I was sending products to other people in days but you had already waited many months, then you wouldn't consider legal action because the courts are too busy?
