Competition Sport Edition Prices announced
Keep in mind that a regular Coupe 1LT with Z51 and NPP is $52,305 and a Z06 1LZ is $74,775 so the price of this package is a good value.

and heads up display and red brakes (doesn't say if they are the larger Z brakes so I assume they are just painted)... the rest is cosmetic. BUT, you can't get heads up on a 1lt any other way unless you do it yourself.

Differential Cooler, Head Up Display, Red Painted Brake Calipers, Z06 tall spoiler plus the different colored headlights and the rest of the appearence package. Plus, some additional profit for GM which, I think we can all agree, would be nice to see!

" Focus on Lightweight " I think GM is out of focus on this one. The only thing that makes it lightweight is the 1LT package! I'm all for GM making money but not doing it using smoke and mirrors. They can keep their skull stickers. This package is laughable.

You should know that you really don't need the special windshield. Many owners have retrofitted HUD without the windshield and it works just fine. I'm sure the windshield offers some value but it's not that you must have it for HUD to work.

I think its a cool idea, but in the long run it won't be a success. GM should have tried to make the car more competition oriented. Like what Ford did with the Cobra R. Take out all non-necessary items to make the car lighter. Take the radio, speakers and ac out instead of giving us red brakes. No one that actually races their car cares what color the calipers are. However, excluding the AC and stereo will increase performance and decrease costs. Just my 2 cents.

Let's see some pics! I would think if there was going to be a comp. performance car it would come loaded with strictly performance options like cold air, big brakes, coolers, no HUD, suspension upgrades, engine mods, wide body with big wheels and sticky non-runflats leaving off the stuff that adds no performance.

Competition "Poser" Corvette, more accurately. And I'd bet anything this package was put together by the marketing team with zero input from engineering.
A real competition package would include the following:
1LT
Z06 suspension
Z06 brakes
Z06 fender flares (all fiberglass)
Engine/tranny coolers
Summer ultra hipo tires
Performance exhaust
This is how they did it in the 1960's when they took this **** seriously.
I don't doubt they will sell, the corvette crowd (unfortunately) is dominated by some of the most uneducated car people I've ever met, and that same bunch loves stickers and skin deep "performance".
