It's a good thing that Vette had good straightaway speed because that Audi probably would have passed him in the curves eventually, he closed on him like he was parked in the corners. To bad the silver Vette held him up. Nice vid though!
I assume he was heating up his tires at first with the Audi (I think it was) on his tail for so long. As for nobody's catching this Z, I wouldn't be too sure about that...there's always somebody faster unless you're 'the one'. There are all kinds of fast cars on a track and some you'd least expect. Thanks for sharing the video...good stuff!

He did but you never know....that may have been the first time the Viper was on that track.

I'm a little clueless on Audi. Guess it looks like a family sedan racing out there.
Don't kid yourself-there are lots of very fast Audis and many of then are the Quattro (awd) models with lots of race/rally history. My daughter's boyfriend has a killer S model with just a few minor mods. Scary fast.

Two points: 1. At Road Atlanta HPDE you are not allowed to pass in the curves, and 2. The Vette was held up behind slower traffic in all the curves. That's why the Audi "looks like" he's catching him in the curves. Notice that the Vette passes someone as he exits every twisty section. These were the people holding him up.
So were all those people out there of the HPDE???
Other wise I'd like to just do two laps or so in mine with out forking out bukoo bucks. How can one do that????
