Is a completely factory stock original C6 worth more then a C6 with 10,000$in after maket mods? I see many cars with lots of after market mods for their C6 cars for sale and they dont seem to get any more money back when they are sold then a factory stock car. I am BIAS because I only like FACTORY STOCK ORGINAL CARS!

In most cases MOD money is lost money when selling...or that is what I see...That makes for great deals when you find owners who do things tastefully though so doesn't mean you shouldn't jump on one that has mods.

I think that it depends on the buyer....I once sold a 1997 Cobra for about 10K over book because it had exactly the modifications that the buyer wanted. That, and I had receipts (including the prices paid for professional installation of everything).......If you are into stock cars then there is no question that to YOU, this would not be the case on a similarly modified 'Vette.......

It depends on the buyer and the type of mods, in general cars with mods do not bring in anywhere near the money spent in aftermarket purchases.

Depends
Most people would assume a performance mod is tested frequently so the car has more wear & tear. Quality of installation likely helps retain some value, but I'd tend to not buy a modded car unless I knew the car's history first hand.
No doubt Callaway and Lingenfelter have brand value on their side vs Shade-Tree Speed Shop.

When the car is new or a year or so old, the modded car might be worth more. That is assuming the mods are "main stream" in nature. As the car ages, a modded car is less desireable. A modded car is viewed by some looking for a used Corvette as someone's elses project and they want a project of their own. I am currently looking for a C5 Z06 to use for a track car - will not buy a modded car - Looking for a Virgin to make her my own.

Guess it depends on the mods and how the good the car was taken care of. I would pay a little more for a C6 that is modded the way i want it. If the car was beaten on and raced hard, then i would pass.

I would never consider buying a modded used car, ever. Most often, a modded car for sale is someone else's failed experiment. I'd say a car with $10k in mods or any amount of $ in mods is worth LESS than a super clean bone stock car. Modding is a hobby, and it's fine, and it's fun, etc, but do not expect to get your money back!

My 97 LPE SC car sold for 8K over book, but that was less than half of what the mods cost me.

My take is different, I modded the heck out of my C5 and drive it like I stole it and would not sale it for what a stock C5 would go for, I guess I got a keeper. Now my C6 is no longer stock, though not doing performance mods so when I go to sale my baby I can return it close to stock. I like my car modded to be different than stock

It totally depends on the buyer. I am selling a heavily modded 03' Cobra. The car is prestine with all the mods being pretty recent with reciepts for everything ever done all at a nationally known shop. I am asking more than if it were stock but I'm losing most of the money I spent building the car. I will tell you this much, from a performance standpoint, my C6 isn't even close to my Cobra. The C6 is a nicer, more refined car and a much better daily driver. Can't really compare the two. The mods I made will have to be desirable to the buyer and if so, he will get a great value for the money.
