Default Forcecast my HP increase...

Just ordered these mods. How much HP increase do you think I will see?

1. Lingenfelter Performance Engineering (LPE) 160 Degree Thermostat (2004-2008 LS1, LS6, LS2, LS7 & LS3 Corvette)

2. VaraRam Gen2 "Snake Charmer" Ram Air System (2005-2007 Corvette)

3. VaraRam Pre-Cut Shroud (2005-2007 Corvette)

4. VaraRam LS2 Throttle Body Spacer

Also, I saw posts discussing programming the fans after putting in a 160 thermo. Is this required?

Thanks!

*Nothing on the Dyno! but down the street youwill notice. T-stats help cooling but not on the dyno either. The fans need adjustment to work best! Not totally needed1Those cars listed do not all use the same t-stat so careful there.

5 HP for the intake. Nothing for everything else.

About 10 - 15 HP on a good day. Intake helps, T-stat helps, Pre-cut shroud helps, spacer is useless. For best dyno results have a fan running full blast in front of the car.

The only thing on that list which will yield significant horsepower is the pre-cut shroud. That's how you get ambient "cold" air to the engine, and that will make some power. Of course, you could cut the shroud yourself with a box cutter so your stock air cleaner housing can get ambient air, and save a ton of money on a bunch of ill fitting plastic that won't gain you any real power.

I never expected any significant increase, but all this was on my list of things to do, and every little bit helps. However I do find it interesting to hear people says ZERO increase, and then I read this:

On the Vararam CAI...
"10-15hp from any cold air kit,but once moving the VR will put all the lost MAP pressure back into the plenum yielding another 17hp by 60mph 19-20by 90-100mph and the way we rate our kits is through a mile Your total power through a mile is about another 22hp plus the dyno hp of 10-15hp,so, on the low side, 32 Rear wheel hp, high side 37 Rear wheel hp. That's 39- 42hp at the fly wheel through a mile. "

On the Vararam Throttle Body Spacer...
"The LS-2 applications see around 5+rear wheel hp and 10+ftlbs of Torque!"

Plus the thermo, and I intend to have the fans programmed to keep the engine much cooler...

All that and zero increase? I find that hard to believe. However I think these mods will come alive alot more after I put on headers and a custom tune...
